Questions about going in October

Some friends and I are planning on going to Disneyworld in October 2005...probably the first week of October. I've only been in either the summer or spring. What is the weather like in October? Is it very crowded?

We've gone several times in October and loved it. The weather is warm, in the 80s usually and still warm enough to swim. The crowds are low, but tend to get busier around the Columbus Day weekend. The parks close early so you won't have alot of late night touring. If they have e-ride nights, you may want to look into those (they're only offered to people staying onsite).

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween is alot of fun, I recommend it, we've done it twice. This is open to anyone, but you need to buy a ticket for it. The ticket is in addition to your park admission ticket. There's alot of info on the boards about it.

We've gone twice in October, and are going for a third time this October. We've found the weather can be very hot and humid, with rain many afternoons (it is hurricane season afterall). I make sure the kids wear their swimsuits under their clothes for cooling off opportunities in the parks. Also, have rain ponchos ready. And while waiting for parades it's a good idea to have those little water bottles with fans on them to keep cool. The good thing is that the kids want to swim, and its always been warm enough for that. Have fun!

We've gone twice in October, '02 & '03. Both years the weather was absolutely beautiful (I love the warm weather) and we had no rain at all!!!! The crowds were much heavier last year for some reason, but it worked out well anyway. We're going in August this year, and I'm a little bummed because I don't like the heat that much, but because my brother wanted to go and he coaches football, we had to do it earlier.

I think you'll love it in October............

You will love October. We have been a couple of times in October and we love it. The weather is great 80's during the day and low 70's at night.

Also, the food and wine festival is going on in October. The festival has been extended to 45 days this year, so I hope it is the same next year. We are planning to go next October also.

We went in October for the first time last year and loved it. The weather was warm, but not overly humid. Lots of great swimming weather! During our week we did not have too much rain either so that was great! We did MNSSHP party too and it was lots of fun. October is a great time to go!

I went in early October a few years ago. I loved it because it wasn't crowded (we never waited more than 10 minutes for any ride) but it was HOT....well, really humid. It rained every night and in the morning it was just muggy, muggy, muggy. Definitely bring summer wear and plan on drinking lots of water.
