Question: Transfer points b/w 2 contracts

Question: I am calling today to make a deposit on Direct (going to hold out & see what new incentives are 9/16) at Riviera on 200 points into 2 contracts that will eventually be passed onto our 2 daughters one day. In booking with 2 contracts, I have to call in & transfer the points from one contract to the other to make a reservation, correct? How much of a pain is that to do every year?

The transfer is only needed when you have two memberships...2 UYs or different owners,

If you have two contracts, but all under the same membership numbers, they will function as one big one if the same resort.

So, buying 2 100 point contracts at RIV with the same owners, will be no different than 200 for booking purposes...can do it all online.

The difference is that you can sell one and not the other down the line, or, put them in your daughters names. Once that is done, each Will get their own member number,

Be aware that if you want them to keep the blue card benefits down the line you need to be sure to purchase before the minimum goes up

They will each only be grandfathered into the 100 point minimum if you buy before it changes,

If buy the time you get your 200, the minimum is 125, then those 100 point contracts only qualify as long as they stay together in one membership.

Thank you! Just put down the deposit & points are in account & guide stated that I do no more until we know if the incentives improve on 9/16. I must say buying direct is so much faster vs. buying resale. lol

How old are your daughters? They might not be able to afford DVC when you decide to transfer to them. If it is the same membership, they would both have access to both contracts until you change the deed.

One is in college turning 20 soon & the other is in high school. Just thinking way down the road - if they don't want them, we will sell but they are both DDs so we shall see what they decide when the time comes.
