My family and I are considering a 2 week stay at the Swan late this summer. We have always stayed at the Yacht Club. The pool is important because we have a young son. My question is, do you think that the pool at the Swan is comparable? Also, we have never stayed at a moderate but I have heard that the pool at the CSR is very lovely. Anybody been to both? HELP!!!!!!!
Instead of enjoying the anticipation of the trip, I am getting nuts.

Thank you for any comments or suggestions.

Swan and Dolphin share the Grotto pool which is on the Dolphin side of the property. We usually like to stay at the YC/BC but we were booked with the Swan for our summer trip due to a great room rate. While our recent visit at Easter we stayed at the AKL and visited the Swan/Dolphin after dinner at Cape May and decided to cancel our ressies at the Swan. The Grotto pool looks awesome and our son is upset we are not staying there. We changed our minds due to how far away the pool is from not only the Swan but also the Dolphin. The resorts are big and spread out. If it were just my DH and me we would love to stay there. However, the kids are in those in between ages (10, 10, & 13) where, as a parent, we feel more comfortable letting them go off on their on a bit but not too far where we can't reach them quickly. At the YC/BC, we are comfortable in letting them go down to the pool or game room while we prepare to following in a few minutes. Or allowing them to go to the game room while we are laying by the pool. Things are a bit more compact at the YC/BC. When the kids are older, we defintely plan on trying out the resort. By the way, depending on where your room is at the Swan, you may actually be closer to Grotto pool than one of the Dolphin wings. Perhaps you could make a special request. While we didn't actually swim in the Grotto pool, I think SAB has the slight edge.

There are people who are in love with these resorts and after our brief visit, I can see why. I don't think you could go wrong if you decide to stay. I just thought I would give you my perspective of why it is not a good choice for us at this time.

We've stayed at Dolphin twice and have seen SAB often. The Grotto is my families favorite pool. I think they are both very nice, but we don't like the fact that SAB is in the middle of the boardwalk and everyone walks by staring at you. Also, the slide was too big at SAB for our kids last time.

Grotto is beautiful and huge, it appears to go on forever. It have a huge waterfall and a nice midsized slide. They offer life jackets for free. I do agree that Dolphin is very large, but never thought of it as a problem. DxL & CBR other resorts we stayed at, were much larger and we never even made it to the main pools.

We've also never had a problem finding a lounge chair at Grotto, where other pools have had problems midday.
