Question regarding charging to our room

Staying at WL May 19-26! WOW! Only a week away! Anyway, I was wondering about charging to the room...like if we buy things at the shops at MK. Can we charge them to our room or do we have to pay right there? Or can we only charge things to our room from the resort.? I know they will deliver things to the rooms...is there a charge for that?
I have been debating about just using our CC or bringing travelers checks. Any suggestions for you experienced travelers!

You can charge anything in the parks or resorts to your room key, then simply have those charges put through your credit card when you check out. I haven't used traveler's checks in ages!!

When you check in they will ask you if you want to place a credit card on your account. If you do then you can charge to your room from anywhere on WDW property. (except some of the small carts that sell water/popcorn, etc.)
There is no charge to have purchases delivered to your room.

Even tho you have to tie a credit/debit card to the room key they will only do the 'put a hold on x dollars until you check out. When you do check out the whole amount you have actually charged will be processed to your charge/debit card.
I believe you can also leave cash or travelers checks at the front desk and the amount you leave will be put on your room card. If you don't spend all the money you will get your change when you check out.

In all cases[cash, checks, charge card, or debit card] if you run out of money on your room card before your checkout date you will have to go to the front desk and put more money on your room card if you want to keep charging to your room. I beleive that if you reach the limit on your room card using a credit/debit card that the amount you have charged up until then will be processed at that time not held until check out but I have never run out of funds on the room card so I don't know for sure if they do this.

The limit for WL and the other deluxes is $1500 then they just run your card and return your balance to zero. Just a heads up, even the little vendor carts will now allow room charges Makes it really easy to leave everything at "home" and travel light to the parks!

Is there a way to get a summary of charges DURING the stay? The paranoid in me would love to check for unwanted activity.

Thanks...that helps alot! Maybe I will just skip the travelers checks then! i hate those anyway!
So, just to clarify...if I have booked Chef Mickeys or other restaurants...the meal can be charged to the room also?

Yes, Chef Mickey's can be charged to your resort room. As others have said, almost everything in WDW can be charged to your resort room as long as you take that option at check in.
Another poster asked if you can get a print out during your stay. You can go to the front desk of your resort any time and they will print out your current charge statement. You can do this daily, or more often, if you want. At check out you will be given the complete print out of all the charges made to your room. If you choose express check out they will place this in an envelope and hang it on your door very early the morning you are leaving.
