Question regarding annual passes and fast pass

I am considering buying an AP. we will go in October. I would like to buy before my 60 days fast pass selection. Can I make fast passes before I show up at the park? An employee at disney today told me no I have to wait. Is this correct? How does it work with AP? Will I get magic bands in the mail?

Yes, you can make FPs before getting to the park. If you purchase the AP online you will link it directly to your MDE account and if you are staying on property you will be able to make FPs at 60 days. If not staying on property you can make FPs at 30 days.

You will not be able to customize the MB for the AP until after you have used it at the parks. If you are staying on property you will get MBs for your resort stay.

You can have 2 if you want different colors but you will only need one if that is what you want. Your MB is tied to your MDE account and not your ticket so if you have at least 1 MB it can access all the information on your MDE account. If you choose not to customize the AP MB(they are the same as the resort MBs except you will get a slider with the year on it) you can decline the MB.

BTW - I have about 12 MBs on my MDE account. 2 limited edition bands and 10 from resorts stays - I like to coordinate colors with my outfits.
