Question on the Mousefest Event

The invites will go to those who have booked with DU for the night of Dec 13th first, right? And then once you've closed that one off, then the sign up sheet will be opened up for those in the podcast forum, right?

If that is correct, then I have simply misunderstood, and I apologize.

I'm really not trying to be difficult . I just have a tendency to feel sad for people when they are left out of things like this that involve their friends. It's like not being invited to the birthday party for the kid in class, and then seeing that everyone else gets to go. No - that never happened to me. But stuff like that has.

I agree with Goofy4Tink in that a small nominal fee to get in would not be unreasonable. This would ensure those that sign up, show up . . . and I certainly see nothing wrong with helping the DIS Unplugged recoup some of their costs. You guys are so generous - to a fault - as it is.

We will do everything in our power to insure that the largest number of folks can attend.

If I may make a suggestion....

When the list gets posted, maybe the TIME it is posted is as relevant as the DAY it is posted.

Would it more "fair" to post the list in the evening? Maybe overnight? I don't have the answers. Just thinking out loud.

I've never read anything on this thread to suggest a flaming of Kevin, though a voodoo doll burning in effigy might be appropriate. I'm joking people.

Here's an idea...

Those of us that don't make the list can have another meet...maybe Rix for Moejeetoes or something...so that we don't feel so left out. The ones that don't make the list will have the opportunity to meet the Pod Squad earlier in the day, at the MegaMouseMeet.

Those of us who do get on the list...what say we do a little carpooling, to take some of the burden off of DU? I have an economy car...if you want to get friendly, I can transport up to 4 other people to their resorts, whether offsite or onsite. I promise that if I drive you, I WILL NOT be having a DATW that day! Anyone else renting a car with space to carpool?

Anyone who questions the specifics and details of an act as generous as the Party the Pod Squad is throwing for us at Mouse Fest is completely missing the point. I for one am amazed at the generosity the Dis team shows it's listeners. They don't have to do the wonderful things they do to retain our loyalty, but they do. John has to physically restrain Pete from giving away everything he owns on the prizematron!! They don't have to sponsor a Podcast cruise, but they are. Just trust them to be as fair as is humanly possible with the list of attendees. Some folks who wish to be there, won't be. It's just as simple as that. That's life. Try to be positive. It's rude to second guess people who are giving as much as they are and asking for nothing but patience in return.

Sounds reasonable and thoughtful, Mindy. We will be right there, on the list or no, and probably walk the path to DHStudios or walk/drive to an alternate meet (sober).

I don't see why we can't pitch in to defray some cost and trouble for the organizers should they want such help...
