Question for women who have been pregnant

I would try not too worry too much! I know, easier said than done, but it really is best for you and the baby. Sending prayers and pixie dust your way!!

I didn't post when I first read this question because I don't have kids and it would have only been what I've heard and learned in school (not just normal health class, I took an advanced one lol)

I still don't have any real medical advice to give...but I think you need to remember a couple very important things here.

A lot of what is happening and will happen, its just out of your hands. Obviously you do what you can to stay healthy but so often it seems that women will talk about situations like this and think there's something more they could have done. Your body knows what's right and really is made to do what it's doing as far as growing a baby. If it (and I know it sounds odd to refer to it almost separately) knows something is wrong, its probably making the right decision if things don't progress. Secondly, relaxing and staying off the google monster will only do good like others have said. Absolutely doing some research is ok, and it sounds like you have done that, but reading poor outcomes over and over or other complications, again what's going to happen is going to happen, and being extra stressed over what you read isn't going to help matters you know?

I hope this comes across the right way, and I certainly hope everything goes well. Like I said, I don't have children and have never been pregnant, and I'm sure what I'm saying is easier said than done.

I had spotting and even some red bleeding with congealed blood that looked like clots from implantation to 13 weeks. Needless to say, i thought my baby was dying. I had a few ultrasounds to make sure my pregnancy wasn't ectopic, but it turned out I was carrying twins. Bleeding during pregnancy DOES NOT result in a 50/50 chance of miscarriage. It's quite common, especially with multiples, which at your age is not that unlikely. As a previous poster said, your uterus has to grow fast during pregnancy, and per my doctor, sometimes a blood vessel opens and bleeding results. The ultrasounds I had didn't fix anything, but they did allow doctor to show me that I had a pool of blood draining from my uterus, which he said would continue until its done. He also said some women just bleed, but they put me on bed rest for a while, then restricted activity just in case the site of hemorrhage was just hidden. Sorry if this is a bit TMI! I was also eating a ton of curry around the time of conception, and turmeric is a blood thinner, so we think my body just couldn't stop the bleeding as quickly as it should have from implantation. Also, my godmother full on bled her entire pregnancy with her son, and he was quite healthy. Rest, look for a clinic where you can get a prenatal panel done, get your hormones tested, and pray is the best I can suggest. Also your state probably offers prenatal care through a Medicaid insurance or Medicaid subsidiary program. Apply for it, and you can drop it later if you don't need it anymore.

Thank you all for the replies! My family ended up talking me into going to the hospital to be checked. I can't see a doctor and be covered by our insurance, but emergency is covered (at least partially - I'm scared of receiving a crazy bill). I'm a bit over 6 weeks, according to when my last period was, but I'm 5 weeks 1 day according to the ultrasound. My periods aren't regular, though.

My HCG level is close to 12000, but the ultrasound showed a gestational sac, a questionable yolk sac, and no fetal pole. Not a good sign, but nothing is known for sure. I go back in the morning to have blood drawn to see if my HCG has doubled. Even if it has, it can still be a blighted ovum, where my HCG rises, but the baby has stopped growing. I hate that even if I get good news tomorrow about my HCG, I still won't know if we've essentially already lost the baby.

Google is certainly my worst enemy right now - I keep caving in to searches and then stop myself shortly after. I'm the type that researches everything to death, so it's really hard not to stay off the computer.

So much about pregnancy is mysterious! I chart my cycles, so i actually track gestation by when i ovulate, which is more accurate imo than last period alone. If you know when you may have conceived, take that into account with their calculation. most people treat pregnancy according to a 28 day cycle with ovulation roughly day 14, but that isnt necessarily even close to accurate. Also, it's been my experience that not every ultrasound tech knows what they are doing, especially in the ER. They don't specialize in pregnancy, and some can't even find the gestation sac. Did you get ******l or abdominal u/s? ******l is more accurate but not foolproof.

I'm sorry you are going through this, but there isn't much a doctor can do this early.
I also went through it twice, first time ended in miscarriage, the second time was my beautiful DD7.
Like they've told you, it's a 50-50 chance. Rest as much as you can.

Best of luck

Just read through this post and I hope you are hanging in there okay...sending prayers and positive thoughts your way.

Hope everything is going better.

My sister had trouble conceiving and even had a miscarriage. She was told to come back and see her doctor when she had her period. Well she didn't get one so the doctor did a blood test to see if she was still pregnant. It turned out she was and that she had been carrying twins but lost one of them. She was so happy that she still had one. My nephew is now almost 3.5 years old.

Hoping you are doing okay. I immediately got tears in my eyes after your first post after knowing the pain of having several miscarriages. But I've also had friends with bleeding that ended just fine. Praying yours is the latter.
