Were renting a villa in june next year, and to budget for it would like to set up direct debit or paypal with villa owners, say it cost us £1000, would pay £100 for 10 months, can any owners or any one else let me know if they would allow this or has anyone done it, prefer to ask here and get some feedback rather than asking owners direct in case they think im being cheeky, thanks in advance.:)

I'm not a villa owner, but have rented many tmes.

Normally, we pay a deposit on booking (10-15%) and then the balance about 6-8 weeks before departure. To budget for your villa, would it be easier for you to set up a monthly direct debit to a savings account? That way you would get a bit of interest on the money - plus it remains yours until you pay the balance.

Just a suggestion. :)

I would definately go down this route.
There have been stories in the past - not many so don't be put off - of people paying the balance early only to find nearer the time that the owner has sold and the villa isn't all they were hoping for after all.
I don't think any villa owner would be against you doing this - but I really think saving is the better option, then paying the outstanding balance when they ask for it.

I would open a saving account too instead of paying the villa off in monthy installments

As a villa owner we ask for a depoist of £100 per week booked and usally the balance to be paid 8 weeks before hand , but if you where my clinet and you asked me if you could pay me in in monthly instalments I would acomodate your request . For me the clinets satisfaction starts from the moment they book with me until the time there holiday is over and I pride my self on being attentive to each clinets needs making there holiday one to remember .

My advice would just be to ask they can only say no or they may come up with a compromise that you will both be happy with .

Many thanks for the replies, how come its the easiest things that are less obvious :confused3, the thought that they might sell there villa never crossed my mind, so with that in mind direct debit to new savings account is the way, ta again .:yay:
