question for those that have rented their points out

We are hoping to go on a 7day cruise next fall 09'. Knowing it will be way more cost effective to rent out my points than use points for the cruise I am trying to gather information so I can do this.
My question is this- how early should I begin posting to rent out my points?? Has anyone had difficulty with renting theirs out? Not getting them rented? I did find an online site that will facilitate this, but I will get less per point and not sure if this would still be cost effective to do this.
I will have somewhere around 550 points next year, and they are for three different home resorts-
any help would be greatly appreciated!

It would be best to do it as soon as possible which leaves you time if you do run into any issues. Just be certain in your for rent listing to say when the points are good for and if there is the possiblility of the 11 month window which resort or resorts are the home resorts. For example 300 OKW points can be used for reservations 12/08 to 12/09 . Most people do not want to use borrowed points to make a reservation in case something happens before they get their money and they can not put them back into the other UY. I have only had a problem with one rental but some report it to be a difficlut process so the sooner you get started the better. Be sure to read the stickys on the rent trade board to get some pointers. Good luck and hope you have a great cruise. That is one of the reasons I rented points 2 years ago and it was worth it.

We rented our points through the Disboards and it was a great experience.
I would def. recommend starting a.s.a.p. You will get a lot of emails and have to sort out a lot of details before things become final. We didn't have as many points as you and rented to two diff. people. With that amt. of points, you will probably have several diff. renters. In the end it is nice to know that this is an option if we can't use our points!
