Realllllllllllly looking forward to this trip. I was questioning one part of it though. what do you think the crowds in the parks will be like? I went last year during this time and it was not crowded at all. My concern is that people will just stay the thurs-sun and keep it like a early extended weekend. Anybody else feel my concern? Just planning what parks to do what day (another reason i ask this is because the parks have longer park times during this time, made me think the crowds were heavier). anybody already have their itineraries made up?
well, thank you in advance.:bounce:

After last year I would say you have good reason to be concernd. Last year we were there from the 1st - 10th and that is exactly what happend. It was very crowded until that Sunday. Because of this we moved our trip this year to the 21st - 31st. Good Luck!

We're going the 1/6 - 1/14 and I was hoping (no PRAYING) the crowds would be light. DS wears out very easily so I chose this time of year so that we would have less line time. Anyone have experience with the week after New Years' weekend?

We went 10 years ago 1/9 - 1/15. The crowds were light and we hardly waited for anything. We are returning for our 10th anniv 1/8 and hope to experience the same!!!

We're arriving on 1/4 (Sunday) because I was assuming crowds would hang around through the weekend and we'd have pretty light crowds that week. We'll see how it works out! I'm super excited, and no matter what happens we'll have a great time!

I have a friend who has been right after New Years the past couple of years and she says by the 3rd, the crowds thin considerably. We will be in the parks Jan 4 to 9. I know our schools start back on the 6th and many districts start back on the 5th. Besides people have to go back to work, right? Ok I'm trying to convince myself that it will be good by the 4th!!

Some of our schools actually start back on Friday the 2nd!

Hope there are more like that!

;)

I am having the same concerns as you. I will be checking in on Dec. 31st and leaving January 6th. I will stay away from the parks on Dec. 31st but plan to spend the day at the parks on the 1st. I am sad to say that we will probably have large crowds on Jan. 1, 2 and 3 because of the weekend and the holiday. Although, the economy is still looking bleak...

We are leaving out of New Orleans on the 31st. Are ya'll flying? We will be returning on the night of the 5th. My family is now all excited trying to find a big screen tv for the Sugar Bowl! I can't wait to get to WDW, I don't even care if it is crowded. Hope to see ya'll there!

We're leaving Dec 31 taking a red eye and not arriving till EARLY Jan1 - 6AM. We are also planning on spending that day elsewhere (not in the parks). Thinking about checking out the other resorts. We're staying till Jan 11. This is our 3rd trip, but haven't been for over 11 years. We can hardly wait. Hope to see some of you there!

Wannabe,

We are flying out of N.O. Who would have thought that our Disney plans would interfere with LSU??? Although, I'm not complaining about either one.

I'm thinking we will be at the ESPN club. We watched the Saints Monday night football game there a few years ago and it was nice. Get there early though. There will be a lot of tiger fans waiting to get in. GO TIGERS!!!
