This is our first summer trip- August 6th-12th & first time with fp+. For those experienced in summer travel at WDW, do you try to avoid planning your fast passes for certain times of the day because it is more likely to rain? I have most of ours in the morning, but then I choose some of them to start as early as the 5-6 time frame. Just wondering if that is the usual rainy part of the day? Is there a typical time for the afternoon showers or does it just vary? Thanks!

I would just plan them for when it is convenient for you. If a ride is not operational at the time of your FP window, you can use it later for that ride or one of a list of rides that they will email you.

Agree with pp, most rides do not close down due to rain, outdoor attractions will close to high winds or lightning, but not just normal rain. So expectations of rain wouldn't enter my mind.

Thanks. I'm sure that I'm to the point where I'm over thinking all of this! I guess I was thinking more along the lines of navigating MK all the way back to Splash Mt. during a thunderstorm and who can ever plan around all the possible things that could happen with the weather?? lol

We have gone in August the past three years and it rained just about every day. Usually in the late afternoon, early evening. Not sure if you have young kids with a stroller - but we love when it rains because it usually empties the park. We do not have any in strollers. One year it was a bad storm while we were eating dinner at Ohana. After dinner we went to HS and people were leaving at an unbelievable rate. We had our ponchos on and went in. My kids did TofT about 5 times in an hour....they were so excited.

Advice - bring two sets of ponchos - in case one gets too wet (and doesn't dry overnight) or rips. Carry them every day - you will need them. Also no umbrellas. Bring shoes that will not be slippery when it rains - no flip flops. Also bring a few sets of shoes in case they get wet and do not dry.

Enjoy!

I was there a couple of years ago & it seemed to come down around 3-4pm but who knows this time around? I'll be back this august & I know the rain will be short & sharp then over. It only interfered once and that was my fantasmic day, rained from 4 and carried on, unusual though
