I was waiting for the new fares to be posted, and was online by 11:20 ET yesterday to book Providence - Orlando for 6/23 - 6/30. I was able to get $75 one way on the flight down if we booked the 4:50 PM flight (much later than we would normally like to go), but was forced to pay $190 on the flight back. I am sure I was online within 10 minutes of the proces being loaded because I had been checking all morning. All cheaper flights and times were listed as unavailable.
I booked one way flights as has been advised here, and subscribe to Ding. In the event I find a price reduction between now and June, would someone please post exactly how I go about getting the lower fare? Is it better to call, or to do it online? And can I do it only on the flight I have booked now, or can I move my flight to a different one the same day that might have a lower price?
Thanks for any help you can give this Southwest newbie.
