We are staying next month at Aulani for 6 nights over our 33rd anniversary.

What are the recommendations for a great nearby restaurant? My budget is less than $400 for dinner, so nothing too crazy expensive.

I'd suggest 'Ama 'Ama. My next suggestion would be Roy's, where my family have always had great meals, but I've read enough poor reviews to know that SOMETHING is going on that leads to inconsistency.

It's looks like 'Ama'Ama is one of those places you have to book right at exactly 30 days out. I'll set an alarm to snag it while I look at other places.

I believe that I ate at a Roy's another time while in Hawaii, but it also looks good.

Literally looking at the same scenario when we go in a few months. We heard that AMA AMA can close due to weather though, so thats the only thing that makes me pause about booking it. Wonder if the Four Seasons next door has any good options as well?

For how many people? Just two? In that case I'd probably suggest Ama Ama. Or next door at the Four Seasons

Our favorite anniversary dinner while at Aulani is Mina’s next door at the Four Seasons. We tried Longhi’s last month and wish we had stayed with our tried and true.
Ooo! That looks good too!

We had all three on a recent trip. These were our favs in order -
1) Mina's. Celebrated my 50th bday here and it was phenomenal. Our reservation was for 7pm and, to our complete surprise, our table was prime location to watch the torch lighting ceremony.
2) Roy's. Wonderful and the stroll back to the hotel under the full moon was magical.
3) Ama Ama. It was very good. For us, we enjoyed the others more.

Not discounting others' experiences at all, but my wife and I were excited to try Noe a few years ago and it was by far the worst dining experience we'd had in years. An utter fail from start to finish. And we totally understand that every restaurant has their off days, but management's complete indifference was the last straw. We'll never eat at Noe, or any of the restaurants at that Four Seasons, ever again.

We went to Ama'Ama for our 25th anniversary. It was fantastic - highly recommended. Also, don't let the lack of reservation availability block your plans. The site showed no availability initially, so we made a reservation for Makahiki instead and talked with Concierge at the resort - they were able to secure reservations for us at Ama'Ama and shift our Makahiki reservation to another night. (obviously, you can't assume this can always be done, but it's worth asking if you have a special occasion and are part of a small party).

We had dinner at Mina’s after getting engaged in March and it was an amazing meal. Food was great and they really took care of us. Mention in the reservation it’s your anniversary!

It’s expensive but 400 should be plenty as long as you don’t get crazy with multiples apps, lots of drinks, etc etc

We went to Aulani for our 30th anniversary a couple of years ago. Ama Ama was closed on our actual anniversary day so we went next door to the Four Seasons to Noe and it was great! The service was impeccable. It was pricy but not AS pricy as Ama Ama. We then went to Ama Ama later in the week with a reservation just prior to sunset - GORGEOUS. Service was also impeccable and the food was incredible. We included the wine pairing so it was significantly more expensive but it was a special meal for sure. Both are great if money is no object. :rolleyes1
