Question for Republicans (NOT a debate please!)

I'm voting for Bush, not because he's a Republican, but because I think he's the better choice. And not the lesser of two evils which is a reason that some use to pick a candidate.

But it's interesting that not one person really said they're voting for Bush because he's NOT Kerry. Now don't get all riled up over that, it's just my observation.

Frankly, I disagree with Bush on many of the policies that he has proposed over the last 4 years (immigration, too much spending) but a bad Bush is better than any democrat.

I firmly believe that the goal of the Democratic Party (not most rank-and-file members) is the destruction of our rights and liberties. THey want to turn the US into a socialist "utopia" and do right what the Russians failed to do. As such I do whatever I can to vote and get others to vote anti-democrat.

I'm a republican and will be voting for Bush. He's not perfect. But the best man for the job, IMHO. I do wonder, though. Who is on the horizon to run in 2008?

Ok, you got it out of me...I'm voting for Bush because he's not Kerry. There I said it. Is that what you wanted? I'm sooooo ashamed. :teeth: Couldn't resist, sorry. Back to the thread.

I voted for Bush last election, and I will again. I don't agree with everything he does, but I still think he is the best choice. It also helped seal that decision when I realized our taxes will go up if Kerry is elected. I'll be sure to be voting on election day!:)

I'm a Republican voting for Bush and have always voted Republican but I definitely could give my vote to a Democrat if the circumstances were right but that's NEVER happened and I doubt it will but I am open-minded and I leave that door open.

I think Bush is doing a great job and I'd vote for him no matter who he was running against but I sure wish the Demo's had someone other than Kerry, YUCK! Anyone but Kerry (or Gore). I like Leberman, I even like Edwards and Dean but Kerry, YUCK! I sure hope Bush wins for our country's sake!::yes::

I'm a republican, but have voted for democratic candidates many times (locally & federal offices. Bob Graham & Bill Nelson to name a couple).

I will be voting for President Bush in November. It is NOT an "Anti-Kerry" vote, but a vote for who I thnk is better suited for the job.

Having heard GWB speak for a PROLONGED period (more than 30 seconds), I know he is not the "verbally-challenged" guy that he is potrayed in the press sound bites.

He is doing some thing s I don't like, such as SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY!!!! (But congress has a big hand in that as well, so I don't hold him TOTALLY responsible, but he does share some responsibility), and expanding entitlement programs.

He has a handle on the isiues of the day, does not waver in his basic core beliefs, is not "poll driven", and has the security of the United States of America as one of, if not his top priority. And he is not afraid to step on toes to attempt to insure we are safer than prior to 9/11.

And I will NEVER vote for anyone that keeps harping on "class warfare" issues, or uses the terms "tax increase" or "repeal of tax cuts" in his platform.

As I have stated before, as a fiscally conservative, middle class family, the Democrats have shown me & offered me nothing that I think would improve the nation AS A WHOLE. Giveaways to various sectors & splinters, yes, but nothing for everyone.

To quote John F Kennedy: "A rising tide floats all boats" .

I typically vote for Republican candidates because the party's views are much closer to my own than Democratic views overall. I also support President Bush because of the same reason--his views are much more similar to mine than Senator Kerry's views/stances.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I dislike Kerry almost as much as I disliked Gore, and I was wondering if I wasn't open-minded. But I realized, after hearing Lieberman in several interviews, that I would have be much more drawn to him as the Democrat candidate. And I liked Dean more than Kerry also. We have the same taste in political candidates, it seems.

I am also a republican voter because I believe their party is more in line with my views (not all of them mind you). Never voted Dem, and doubt that I ever will. Definitely an anti-Dem voter. That being said I am not "in love" with Bush, but far prefer him to Kerry.

I don't agree with everything that Bush has done, but I don't want to see Kerry in the White House.

Not too happy with Bush right now, he's gotten too middle of the road for me on many issues and the spending by congress has gotten way out of hand. I think his tax cuts are the right idea, just wish there was more fiscal responsibility on both sides of the isle. I'm anti-democrat in many ways but I don't always agree with the republican party on couple issues as well. But my core beliefs on national defense, war on terrorism, tax cuts, etc. are the ones that Bush believes in and thats where my vote will be this November.

My beliefs are very conservative except for the death penalty. I vote pro life and pro prayer.

I'm independent but I'll probably vote for Bush this time.

I can't get on board with the Hollywood types that are shoving their beliefs (liberal, hating conservative/traditional views) down our throats, and think that they represent the majority.
Maybe they do, I guess we'll see, but they don't represent me, and their collective attitude turns me WAY off the dem ticket. They're hurting Kerry's chances by being so obnoxious.

(BTW, I gew up in Mass., and I have to say I think more of Kerry now than I ever have. I'm not a Kerry basher.) But when I vote republican this November, thank Moore, Baldwin, Garafalo etc.

I vote a straight Republican ticket every time, at least in national elections. Local elections are different. I don't think party affiliation means as much locally. DW does the same. As far as I know, my whole family does. I'm a fiscal & social conservative. People like me probably scare liberals to death-I'm a white Christian evangelical male. ;)
