I'm a republican, but have voted for democratic candidates many times (locally & federal offices. Bob Graham & Bill Nelson to name a couple).
I will be voting for President Bush in November. It is NOT an "Anti-Kerry" vote, but a vote for who I thnk is better suited for the job.
Having heard GWB speak for a PROLONGED period (more than 30 seconds), I know he is not the "verbally-challenged" guy that he is potrayed in the press sound bites.
He is doing some thing s I don't like, such as SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY!!!! (But congress has a big hand in that as well, so I don't hold him TOTALLY responsible, but he does share some responsibility), and expanding entitlement programs.
He has a handle on the isiues of the day, does not waver in his basic core beliefs, is not "poll driven", and has the security of the United States of America as one of, if not his top priority. And he is not afraid to step on toes to attempt to insure we are safer than prior to 9/11.
And I will NEVER vote for anyone that keeps harping on "class warfare" issues, or uses the terms "tax increase" or "repeal of tax cuts" in his platform.
As I have stated before, as a fiscally conservative, middle class family, the Democrats have shown me & offered me nothing that I think would improve the nation AS A WHOLE. Giveaways to various sectors & splinters, yes, but nothing for everyone.
To quote John F Kennedy: "A rising tide floats all boats" .
