Through the AP website, I was able to book a room reservation with the DDP, without it being a AP discounted rate.
I was told by a phone CM that this isn't possible, however I was able to do it online...
If you already have a booked room-only reservation, and want to add the DDP, you will have to cancel the room-only and rebook as a package. You cannot add the DDP to an existing room-only reservation.
ADDED TO SAY: Since you know for sure you want the DDP, I would suggest booking it now as the Room/DDP package. Once the AP rates are put out, you should be able to apply the rate to your room, as long as the category/hotel you want is available for the discounted rate.
Thanks for the quick reply! If I book a Room/DDP package, do I have to add a 1-day ticket or anything, or will they simply let me do it as an AP holder?
You can book it as an AP + Dine package without having the AP right now. You also will not have to purchase the 1 day base ticket. But you will have to show your AP at check in or within 24 hours of checking in (if you won't get the AP until after check in). I have read reports that some people were never asked for their AP, while others had to show it.
Thank you. I already have the AP, so that's not a problem, however, I've run into another dilemma. The website won't allow me to book this package for more than 14 nights...and we're staying 16. That's an issue with the dining plan, though and not the room. I guess if I want the DDP I'll have to book 2 separate stays and make them connecting reservations. I wish Disney would make it easy to book longer trips.
. Yeah, packages are a maximum of 14 nights. But like you said, just book 2 separate stays and have them link the two ressies. I'm sure your chances are pretty good that you won't have to change rooms, but make sure to request that on the first reservation when you book. Then when you check in, tell the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room

How do you do this??? On the phone or can yOu do it online???
Well, I'm all set! 16 nights at POR! Thanks everyone for your help. Since I was dealing with 2 separate reservations and needed them to be noted "continuing," I called and made reservations over the phone. I got one of the most knowledgable CM's ever. She knew exactly what I needed to do and was so efficient.
Like I said above, you can call and do this, or do it yourself online. Sign into the Passholder site and go to Passholder Offers. At the bottom of the page is the Room + Dining offer. Click on the dining "details" link and there will be an option to book on the next screen.

.But I don't have a annual Pass yet???

You can buy the annual pass, and have it shipped to you. It won't be activated until first use. You can then register it, and check prices for yourself.
They do not ship the pass itself, it's a voucher that needs to be exchanged for the pass once you get there. Someone posted recently that they were able to register their voucher to get on the AP site, but it took alot of doing to get it done since it wasn't the actual pass they were registering.
