Question about Value Views

Hi,
I just realized it might be possible for us to purchase DVC points from a member for a future trip. In checking out the AKL Villas, I notice there is a Value View listed. I know Standard Views are usually parking lot views but what is a Value View? Would that be like the rooms located behind the wall near the bus stop at AKL? Thanks!

Value rooms are smaller than the other rooms and are located only at Jambo House. I believe there are different views that come with those rooms and getting a specific one is only a request and not guaranteed.

value rooms are smaller (the studios are 50 sq ft smaller than the normal AKV studio). nothing to do with the view, which can be savanna, pool or parking lot...but the view cannot be guaranteed.

The value villas are only located at Jambo House and are limited in number. They were made out of converted rooms that were smaller than the rest.

At Jambo House, the standard view is pool view. Value is pool, parking lot and savanna. At Kidani Village, the standard view is pool and parking lot. Usually a bit of both.

We stayed in a value studio 3 times and evert time had pool view (even had the same room twice). I believe there are only a couple of studios that have parking lot views.

Here's a picture of where the majority of the room size difference seems to be taken from. Two years ago, I stayed in a standard view, then a value studio so that I could feel and see the difference for myself-

I thought the value studio was a much better use of points. I've gone back to a value studio once since and have another vacation upcoming in October, that I'm hoping to switch to a value studio at 7 months.

Haha - I just posted about my value room experience on another thread.

We stayed in a savanah view value studio this past summer. It was plenty big for DH and I. Sort of like a regular hotel room, but with extras. We made sure to request savanah view when making our reservation knowing full well that there was NO guarantee. We just got lucky!

The Value rooms are located in the Ostrich and Giraffe wings of Jambo House and surround the entrance.

As you can see on the map in the link above, some of the rooms have a savanna view while others are pool, parking lot or entrance. You can request the view you desire, but there is no guarantee that you will get the villa you want.

Please note that all of the DVC villas at Jambo House are on the fifth floor except for the Concierge villas on the 6th floor. They are the complete opposite in the number of required points from a value rooms.
