question about UY and banking points

I want to go to WDW in early July, and early December and/or mid January each year. I think the best use year for me is December since I will get new points Dec 1st and if anything happens that makes me cancel by July trip, I have until July 31st to bank those points.

My question is are those banked points from a cancelled ressie any different from regular banked points that were never linked to any ressie?

No different if the reservation is canceled more than 30 days prior to your reservation date.

That would work...If you are going with AKV, maybe you could get Dec2008 points?....If you are going with BLT, if you went with a June UY--you would get your first set of points sooner (June 2009 vrs Dec 2009) and you would have until Jan 31st to bank your points...

Which reservation (Jan or Jul) do you think will be using the largest amount of points?

The Dec/Jan will use more points

I was thinking of a 160 pt BLT purchase and a 150 BCV resale with the idea of BLT or BCV in early Dec/mid January and OKW studio in July.

My DH won't buy until he sees DVC for himself in Jan 2009, so AKV is not an option and it wasn't one of the resorts I was considering in any case.
