We are considering staying at SOG for the TOT 10 miler...the room prices have s nearly convinced. However, I am concerned about transportation to and from e race. Does anyone know if SOG will have race transportation or if we can drive a rental car to/from the race or what our transportation alternatives/options are? We're trying to plan this out as cheaply as possible because we have a BIG WDW trip in July this year where we're pulling out all the stops. Can't afford that twice.

Only host resorts will have transportation to the race (see http://www.rundisney.com/travel/disneyworld/ for a list of TOT host resorts).

There was no parking at DHS last year - cars had to park at WWOS and take a shuttle bus from there to DHS for the race start. I stayed at a non-host resort and drove to a host resort for dinner, then took the bus from there to the race. Very easy and efficient.

With SOG, you could walk (or maybe drive - don't know if they'll allow parking) to the Poly and catch a race bus from there.

You may want to consider heading over to the Boardwalk area for a light dinner around 5pm, and then walk over to DHS via the walkway by Crescent Lake for the race start. You can change at one of the resorts, relax, grab some water at a lounge, etc. You would not have to worry about special transportation, just use the regular bus system to get to the resort.

The walk over was nice as a little warm-up, and it helped dissipate some of the nervous energy before the race.

AND then post race, walk back to the Boardwalk or other resort in this area and hail a cab back to the SoG.
