Question about transferring points?

Hi,

I am a member at VWL. If I were to rent points off another member and they transferred them to me - and the points i rented were say BCV points, would I be able to use the 11 month booking window at BCV for those points? Thanks.

Yes, and only at BCV. You would not be able to use them at the 11 months point at VWL. Points always retain their original aspects: Use Year and Home Resort.

According to the "letter of the law" this is true. But DVC's computers don't manage the points properly. Chances are when you call to book the points will appear to be VWL points since that is your Home resort.

Be prepared to "climb the ladder" at DVC to get the 11-month booking window recognized as being from their original Home resort. Some CMs will swear up and down that they can't get the points to work for a BCV booking prior to the 7-month window. Ask to get a supervisor involved.
