This will be our first trip as DVC members(so excited, yeah!!!) and I am obsessing over the towel situation... so, wondering how the purchase of the extra towel packs works. Do you have to purchase them at check in or can you get them at any time during your stay if you find that you need them? Do you receive them right there at the front desk if you order them at check in or does housekeeping bring them to you?

I have never purchased extra towel packs. If/When I run out of towels, I ask one of the lovely housekeeping ladies for a few extra and I usually get more than I can carry. Good Luck.

I usually call mousekeeping as soon as I get in the room and request extra towels.

We've only stayed in a studio once, so when we needed towels we requested them from housekeeping and we received them fairly quickly.

I ordered an extra set before I arrived through MS (when making my reservation). The extra set was in our room when we checked in. They just charged it to our room and we paid when we checked out.

If you are staying in a studio you can negotiate with hiousekeeping. If you are in any other unit, there is a washer & dryer in your unit.

I am very new to the whole DVC and will be going home for the 1st time in Feb, but what are towel packs, can't you just ask for extra towels?

Nope, because DVC is a timeshare and not a hotel room, members are limited to the services they are entitled to, basically to keep costs down. Unlimited towels were voted down a long time ago. So it's pay as you play. If you want additional towels you pay maybe $10 for the pack.

There is nothing free with DVC. We pay for everything we get.

Do we still get the Shampoo, Conditoner and soap? I usually don't pack that stuff.

What other things should I be aware of come Feburary when we go? Is all this information with the paperwork we get from Disney? If is it I will have to read it all, we still haven't gotten it yet.

You will get a small bottle of shampoo, one conditioner, one shower/tub gel and one bath soap for each bathing facility in your villa. In a studio, you get one of each. In a one bedroom, you get two of each (one Jacuzzi tub, one stand alone shower). Also one hand soap for the sink. They will restock these items every four days.

You will probably want to bring some of your own to last the entire four days Or you can purchase additional from the resort.

Here's the info from the DVC member site:

Pay As You Play
With Pay As You Play service, you'll be provided with the following amenities free of charge at the start of your stay. After that, you may purchase more for the following fees:

Toiletries Package, $5.00 - 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel
Coffee Package, $3.00 - 1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers, 8 artificial sweeteners
Towel Package, $6.00 - 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
Laundry Detergent (only in One-, Two-, and Three-bedroom Vacation Homes), $1.00 - 1 box

Here's a weird question. Do they re-stock toilet paper? Or do you have to buy some rolls.....

You can get extra if you need them but there are charges in theory for those items as well. Same for coffee extras, etc. Often they don't charge even when they are supposed to. The rooms will come with the number of towels appropriate for the sleep capacity, 4 in a studio or 1 BR and 8 in a 2 BR. As noted, there is a W/D in the units for 1 BR and larger. There are also community W/D by the pools that those in a studio can use if they want. 1 single use box of detergent will be provided initially and at each cleaning including the Trash and Towel for day 4. You can also buy extra of these if you want. mom2alix gave you the prices and specific info on the charges and what you get. They normally don't leave decaf in the units but will bring them if you call and ask them to swap them out. I've never seen them take the others when you do though.

TP, Paper Towels, dish detergent (both types) are all still as needed and no charge.

After I checked into my 1BR....

I called for extra towels and toilet paper...

they came quick and I don't think there was a charge...

I have also asked housekeeping for more toilet paper in the hall....
Ok...yes we use a lot:lmao:
She gave me a roll....when I came back later...there
was another one on the door:goodvibes
