Hi! Lets say we buy no expiration ticket for our son, he's now 9 years old, what will happen when we return and that he's not considered a "child" anymore??? Do we have to pay the difference the next time????
Disney does not penalize a child for growing up. You can take the ticket to Guest Services on your next trip, along with your son, and they will upgrade the remaining days on the pass to an adult ticket for free.
aka is correct. In theory you could buy a 10 day no expiry for a 9 year old, have them use it once and then save it until the kid is grown and they use it on their honeymoon & 25th wedding anniversary.
Assuming your child activates each one while he is still 9 (meaning he uses one day on each this trip) then yes. Personally, I think that is pushing the envelope on the goodwill Disney offers by allowing "adults" to use unused portions of child tickets but I don't think they would refuse to honour them as I doubt they track the tickets in such a fashion.
Yeah, as long as the ticket is actually unused, then you are fine, and they will upgrade for free. If the ticket is unused, then you will have to pay the difference.
If you purchase a 6 day ticket and used 4, you can add 4 days (up to a total of 10 from your original days) and add the 10 day no expiration ($100) to have 6 days remaining. In other words, you are paying for a 10 day no expiration regardless - it doesn't matter whether you do it at the beginning or upgrade and pay the difference before it expires and you use your last day. I do think you need to do it before you use the sixth day though.
If you bought your kid a 10 day pass and he used a day or two and you forgot it on your next vacation and bought him another one, then he may upgrade both of them to adult at no extra charge.
If you bought your kid ten 10 day passes at once and he used one day on each pass over a few years, Disney might catch what he is doing when he tries to upgrade the fifth one to adult and they might disallow it.
These are just scenarios that describe a gray area. Exactly what happens and when may depend on how much pixie dust the CM behind the Guest Relations counter feels like sprinkling.
Adding non-expiration and/or more days to a pass -- As I wast told it must be done before the pass is exhausted and before the pass has expired. You may add stuff during the day the last park admission or water park admission is being used.
