Are the buses only available to resort guest? I will be visiting Disney July 4-9 and am trying to figure out the best way to travel around Disney as I am not staying on site.

I know that the monorails are available to all guests. I am not staying on site, so I was wondering if there are any other ways of transportations other than the monorails that I would be able to use?

You will definitely be able to take Disney buses anywhere they go. They are not for on-site only people (at least I can't imagine they are).

Assuming you are using the bus to go from AK to EPCOT, etc. you are completely fine. Even going from AK to AKL for example to eat at Boma should still be fine. You are going there for a purpose, KWIM? It's not like you'd just be taking a ride for nothing.

I'm sure I could be wrong, but I think it is no problem. They've never once asked me for anything to prove I'm staying on-site.

Beware there was a thread last week where people were arguing that the transprotation system was only for people staying on site which is not true.

The thread was eventually closed.

What you need to make sure is that your can get back your car. If you leave it at AK and it closes at 6:00 and you hop to the MK and stay until 11:00 you will have trouble getting back to your car. You would most likley have to take a taxi.

Oh ok! Thank u! Im trying to figure out the best way to get to MK bc we have early ADR for cp. I know the monorails are open early but I've had people say that the parking lot for nonresort guest are not open until an hour before the park opens and that would be too late for me. I did read that they have character dining buses run as early as 6:30 am so I was going to try to park at downtown Disney or find somewhere to park and hop on a bus as I would be able to not freak if they parking lot was closed upon arrival! Lol That would be a major meltdown! haha

Parking at DTD for park access is a real hot button issue. There are no buses to the park from DTD and the buses that do run don't start until it opens around 9:30. Because they don't want you parking there for park access.

You should be able to get into the MK parking lot and take the monorail to get to an early ADR.

Ah cool thanks! I didn't kno any other option since I'm not a resort guest but I think I will just check out the parking lot!:)

For Crystal Palace (and other Magic Kingdom restaurants) drive to the MK parking lot (TTC) and take the Resort Monorail. Have your reservation confirmation with you. (Use the express monorail if it comes first.)

If something went wrong following this procedure and the restaurant was unwilling to make it right upon quiet kibitz then I do have other viable suggestions.

Get and save the parking receipt. Lot hopping is free. After breakfast, if you don't want to drive to each and every park you do want to go to, park at the park you will be at last and use the buses.

On some mornings both the Express monorail and the ferry might not arrive at MK until 15 minutes before regular opening hour.
