Question about testing for a short less than 72h trip

Ontario says no third shot for travel. I’ll have to check on the logistics for Alberta. I know in Quebec, they take down addresses. I’m also concerned about screwing up my records with the government.

I don't think it would be any different if you are submitting a vaccine receipt from the US or from Alberta.

This is why I’ll probably just leave it. I hate that we’ve been in this situation.

I am wondering how a Booster shot would effect our Vaccine status.
I read this article yesterday.
Canadians may need Covid 19 booster by Christmas
Moderna President says.
"Moderna has asked regulators in the U.S. to greenlight a half-dose (50mcg) of its original vaccine for use six months after the second shot. Hoge says its data shows the booster brings antibody levels even higher than after the initial shots across all age groups.

They have yet to make a formal submission to Health Canada for approval but are planning to do so imminently, Hoge said."

Dh and I have had this same discussion; a third shot may cause problems with booster scheduling. Such a mess. Could all be avoided if we could just hear back that our vaccine schedule is perfectly fine. Science says it is. We just need the bureaucrats to catch up.

I read that too and it is thought provoking. My second Moderna (third shot altogether) was a full-dose and the pharmacist didn’t batt an eye.

Having had a third shot, I can’t imagine that a booster will be required too. Wouldn’t the third shot act as the booster?

Yeah I’m likely to just sit tight and wait too. But I have to be honest, I am pretty disgusted that our province isn’t addressing this issue head on. At very least we deserve to know what is happening and why.

I followed public health and provincial regulations to the letter for almost two years now. I did everything I could to keep myself and others safe. And now when things are opening and people are travelling in and out of the country I’m stuck , can’t get a timeline or any guidance on how to move forward . The lack of communication from Ontario is extremely disappointing.

Going for the 3rd shot while in LA in 3 weeks. You can get them every where, just say its your first and upload when you get home. Seems like best solution for me right now, as I likely won't get one in BC until new year.

I’m wondering if I’m absolutely nuts to even consider this….

Heh. If you're nuts than so am I! I'm doing a "less than 72 hour" trip down south at the end of the month.

- Getting PCR tested on a Friday at around 1:00pm (the lab I am using says if you test before 4:00pm they will get results before the next day)
- Flying out Saturday morning to Chicago (then driving up to Green Bay)
- Flying back Monday morning at 10:30 am.

Now I *think* I'm also gonna do quick Anitgen test on Friday too (as it's only $40) just in case there is a delay on the PCR test results.

Where does it specifically state vaccination requirements for Canadians? I have seen the requirements for British/European travelers but not for Canadians. Lets not get ahead of ourselves and assume the requirements will be the same. After all, many of us have been traveling to the US with only a clear Covid test as a requirement. I have not read anywhere that things have changed.
