Would love to hear from anyone who has eaten there and if you'd go back or not and why?Is it on the Disney Dinning Plan,(Regular Dinning Plan)?Any help would be great. Thanks

It's not on the DDP but you can charge dinner to your room and you can make ADRs.

The food was ok, it's louder inside than Rainforest Cafe (if you have ever been), more limited menu and more expensive.

My kids thought it was awesome and it was dd's birthday so I'm glad we did it at least once. Dh thinks we might return some time but I'm not sure. On the other hand I love Rainforest Cafe (but there is some food there I don't like either) I'm not picky, I just think some of their stuff is eh.

There is a VERY realistic dino in the front enterence and some small children got scared, there was a little boy that ran screaming out the door convinced the dino was going to eat him and his mom was trying to calm him down.

If you want more specifics about what we ate:
dh got the mushroom ravioli, he loved it but I thought it was gross
I got the chicken fried steak, it was good but there are chives on top (didn't like) and the mashed potatoes had too much garlic

If the server asks your child if they want chips with their food, it's an additional charge but they don't tell you that. It's "only" $1.29 but it's the point. Other sides are included.

My family ate at T-Rex on our last trip. The food was OK. Nothing special. The atomsphere was somewhat nice. It was pretty loud during the meteor storm. We ate in the Ice Age room, which I thought was pretty dark. I asked my son (6 y.o.) if he would want to eat there again and he said no. There was limited selection which is similar to Rainforest.

Since when? I called for WDW for ADR's and they gave me the phone # to the restaurant directly. I called T-Rex directly and they told me "No...walk ups only":confused3

I'd call back (T-Rex). I have two reservations, one I made just yesterday.

1) T-Rex does take phone ressies.
2) They are not on the DDP, as many DTD eateries are not on DDP.
3) DDP does not give a large enough reimbursements for many restaurants.

4) T-Rex is like Rain Forrest Café
. . . owned by Landry's
. . . somewhat expensive
. . . food is good, but pretty much average
. . . atmosphere is very interesting

T-Rex does take phone reservations, I made a reservation for my trip that I took a few weeks ago and it definitely got us in fairly quickly. Especially on a Saturday night with a ton of people waiting. You just have to call them directly.

We really liked T-Rex. It is loud, but the room all the way to the rear is much quieter, and that's where we sat. You still have the meteor shower every 15 minutes and animatronic dinosaurs too.

We really liked out food, in fact I'm wishing I had some Triasic Tuna right now! That was really yummy! My DH LOVED this restaurant!

We would definitely go back. It is expensive, but the servings are HUGE, so next time we'll share more or do more appetizers (the Triasic Tuna is an appy that I had as my entree).

See my review I did, T-Rex is the first one, we ate there our first night at WDW.

Call back!

You have to make your ADR directly through T-Rex Cafe. I made ours about 2-3 weeks out and had no problem. I even called back to add more people and didn't have a problem. When you approach the podium just tell them you have an ADR and it will be under your last name.

As others have said, it was a nice place to eat but the food was pretty pricey and nothing special. Our kids had a good time but I don't know that we will be back anytime soon.

DS(9) and I ate at T-Rex back in Dec. We absolutely loved. We have eaten at both Rainforest Cafe's. DS loved them, as well, but MUST do T-Rex again this summer. Unfortunately, it is not on the DDP and that is one reason I think we are going to choose the QSDP and pay OOP for a couple of TS. (unless we end up there during free dining and it works out cheaper than an AP discount- then we will do just T-Rex OOP)

The atmosphere was very exciting and cool, especially for a boy! We had the steak (filet), waffle fries and grilled veggies. The food was delicious. The steak was tender and flavorful and really one of the best we've had (we are steak fans!) All the employees were very helpful and super friendly. DS loved the hostess who seated us and she answered his million questions. Our waiter was awesome and we were able to charge the meal to our room, no problem, even though the waiter admitted he didn't have much experience in the process.

DS made a dinosaur at Build-A-Dino workshop -which I was worried would be terribly expensive, but since he chose not to dress his dino, he only spent about $16 there. We had a wonderful experience. It was a really great evening.

The closest Disney hotel would be Saratoga Springs Resort. We had lunch at T-Rex in December. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich that was served on fried dough, but it was really too big. Half would have been enough. The restaurant theme is interesting, but in our opinion way too loud. We won't be going back soon.

:goodvibes We are going the end of May first of June with my whole family (13 of us)!!:cool1: We have several ADRs. My sister and I thought our kids might enjoy this restaurant, but we don't know how to fit it into our itinerary. We don't want to plan every minute of our vacation. Do you think if we call after we get to Disney we could get a ressie for later in the week?:confused3

Yes, I'm sure you can. There's always walk up available, you'll just have to wait a while! It made it much easier for us to have a ressie on a Saturday night!

Since January I believe and you don't book through WDW, you book through T-Rex. I ate there in Feb. and booked a month out in January. I'm not sure when you called but I would try again. If you are still told no, I would ask them if they suspended them for some reason.

I called last month and got an advance reservation myself. They were very nice and said they looked forward to seeing us then :)

we really enjoyed it and my 8 yr dd loved it!! we sat in the middle of the restaurant and it was fine. we ordered appetizers and split them but when we go back in may we are getting the nachos!!! (13.99) and enough for 2!! we got the super sampler and it had brushetta, chimachangas, and con queso dip w/chips. nachos were bigger and better!!
