Our current King mattress is around 15+ years and it is def. time for a new one. I've never slept better than I did on the Dream last Spring, and I am curious if anyone knows SPECIFICALLY which type of Sealy Mattress they use? Per the website on DCL it says "Sealy Posturepedic Premium Plush Euro top" but but does anyone know more specifically??? ( on the Sealy website there are Hotel series a Solon Euro top, etc..) There are so many choices and I'd like to get the SAME exact one if possible!! Thank you!! :)

We fell in love with the beds on the Dream as well!

You can't buy the exact one that's on the ship, but after much searching we found one that's close enough for us!

We got the Sealy Posturepedic Grand Canal Plush Euro Pillowtop from Mattress Giant.

I also bought a Sound Oasis Sound Therapy System with a card that includes Caribbean Surf and now we both sleep like babies!

Good Luck in your search!

Yours is the $100,000.00 question!!!

MJ

Well, MOD, if you don't know, I'm guessing nobody does!! lol :)

Guess the only way to really find out is cruise again and rip off the sheets to find the specific info!?! :goodvibes

15yr old mattress? Any quality mattress less than 3 years old would be better than the one you have...

This is from http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/staterooms/deluxe-family-oceanview-verandah.htm

"Enjoy the comforts of home with a Sealy Posturepedic Premium Plush Euro-top mattress, Frette 100% Egyptian cotton linens, and premium bath towels."

We bought Ultra Plush version of the bed when we got off the Dream in February 2011 and LOVE IT!! We had to get two twin XL bed since the king won't fit upstairs, but they gave it to us for the king price!! ($1100 for just the mattresses). We recently got the pillows too :cloud9:

Funny, I was thinking only 15 years old. Even a cheap mattress would still be under warranty after 15 years.
DW and I replaced our el cheapo mattress after 20 years, only because of 15 years of our kids using it as a tampoline. My mom just replaced her 51 year old mattress just because she wanted a new one.

My Simmons Beauty Rest queen is 29 years old!!!! simmons seally, if forget
I got it when i ws 15. it was mega expensive, $800including the frame and box spring!!!!

:rotfl2:
but really
:crazy2:

Lately mattress companies have been on a "replace your mattress every 8 years" ad campaign.

My wife is trying to use that to pressure me to get a new mattress. :crazy2:

Sort of like Michelin and their "get new tires every 6 years" campaign that started right after they reformulated their tires, and cut the UV protection and started having issues with cracked sidewalls.

I just got off the Fantasy and was determined to find the mattress. Since I couldn't find a "Posturepedic Premium Euro" on anybody's website I called Sealy directly and they put me through to the person in charge of the Disney account in the Hospitality division. She said that I could go lie on mattresses in a retail store but there is nothing exactly like the one on the ship because they make them specifically for Disney ships (and are different than the ones in the resort hotels). She said that I can order one directly from Sealy since Disney does not a have a retail purchase option for the cruise mattresses. Here's the good news: a queen set is $847 delivered. I didn't believe it since I saw several people say that they paid $2000 for a set similar to the ones on the ships but she said this is the right mattress and you are buying it directly from them and you have to wait while they build it which can take 4-6 weeks (unless they are already making them when you call and then it will be quicker). I am going to order one! She also said that the Disney ones do not have gel or foam in them (because of allergy issues).
Hope this helps everybody else who loved the mattress as much as me!
Sealy - 1-800- MY-Sealy
Ask for Hospitality division and then the person in charge of the Disney account.
Happy Hunting!

I purchased this one after being on the Fantasy. After researching it back in 2012 it was the closest I could find. I am not really happy with it. This one does say in the description that is has a foam insert. Sealy Posturepedic® Monogram 800

Do you mean you purchased the Monogram or directly from Sealy? I wasn't sure which "this one" was referring to.

One of the issues is that Sealy slaps a new label/name on the mattresses for different retailers so trying to compare across companies is almost impossible. We just bought a new Queen and the DCL mattresses were the standard by which we were comparing all mattresses.
