Booked POR for 4/30/03-5/7/03. We need a room with a trundle, which they have guarenteed. I also requested Alligaitor Bayou (sp?) building 14, nonsmoking, 1st or 2nd floor.

Do I help my chances of getting my requests by calling the resort direct a week or more before our arrival?? Is there any other ways to help your chances of requests being honored?

Thanks!

Hi there, we requested the same exact things when we went to POR in 2001. I had them note it on the reservation and I faxed them to the attention of the room assigner a few days prior to arrival. Got everything I wanted.

Here are the numbers:
Port Orleans Riverside phone 407-934-6000
Fax - 407-934-5777

Oops didn't see the numbers already posted. sorry

They won't even have your reservation at the resort until 3-5 days prior to your arrival, so calling or faxing before then won't do any good.

Keep in mind that even calling or faxing is no guarantee, and don't be dissappointed if you do'nt get everything you want.

wisconsinmousermom,

We had a first floor room and loved it. We always has ducks, rabbits and such outside our window and door. The little ones just loved feeding the ducks every morning.

Also don't know your stroller situation, but it is much easier being on the first floor. Just wheel the stroller right into your room.

DS4 loved the trundle bed.

When I checked into All Star Sports in 2001, I was a litttle upset to find out that only one of my request had been met. The CM that checked me in said they try to give everyone their first request. If they are able to met the others they will. She said make sure you have the request listed in order of importance to you.

Thanks so much for the great advice!! :p

Just love these boards so much, you are all such pros!

Can you fax a request for a coffee maker & iron before or just call housekeeping when you get into your room? Thanks!

I would make it one of the last things on my request, and then call housekeeping when I got in.

Considering that these items are controlled by hosuekeeping, not the room controller or front desk, it won't do much good to request them. In fact I'm not even sure that CRo/WDTC will take a request for them, as they are truly "first come, first served".

I'm just trying to save you a long distance call for nothing.

I've never heard of anyone NOT being able to get these items (I have heard of them running out of hairdryers at the AS's though!)

If you're faxing your room request anyway, you're spending a long distance call.

I always have everything noted on my request, and I've always been lucky and gotten everything I've noted. Sometimes, they've even been in the room when I checked in. The one time I didn't (not Disney) I waited a day and a half for a coffee maker.

So it doesn't hurt to try.
