I need some help from experts as I am a newbie in DVC. We just recently bought 200 points in AKV.
I am going to WDW in Sept. with 2 girlfriends. We are celebrating 41 years of friendship (We are only 40,
we met before we were born
). I couldn't get a standard view in a studio so I changed it to a 1 bedroom for Sunday to Thursday. It was 45 points to stay in a one bedroom for the weekend so we are switiching to the preferred view (still hoping for a standard view). I read on this site that you can use cash to stay at BWVillas on Friday & Saturday. I have an AP, AAA, & AARP (Ok, my friends and I didn't meet before we were born
). Is this something that is available? If so is the room expenesive? I am picking up the cost for my the room.
The reason I am checking is because I am making a second trip down with my mom in January. We are only staying Sunday through Thursday. I am hoping for BWVillas Standard view and that will be 120 points. If you combine that with my Sept trip it is 228 points. I will either have to rent the points from someone on the boards or borrow from next year?
Soooooo - Questions are
1. Can I use cash (rent) to stay at BWVillas in a studio on Friday and Saturday night the first week of Sept?
2. If so, what is the cost of the room?
3. Is it better to rent points or borrow from next year for my January trip?
4. What are the chances of getting a standard view for a 2 bedroom the last week of January?
& lastly. One of my friends is having knee surgery. She will not be in a wheelchair by Sept, but will be using a cane. I have a problem with degenerative discs and I will be in an ECV. It would be helpful to have a room near an elevator for my friend. Any advice for a room to ask for? They currently have us listed for a room on the first floor or near an elevator. I realize the first floor is not very good if you want a view, but her comfort is more important than a view.
Thanks for answering. Penny
