For our next trip we are staying onsite--probably at one of the moderates. If we drive to the Boardwalk resort at night to go to dinner, walk around, etc., will we be allowed to park there? Just wondering since we won't be a guest at that hotel.

Yes, you are allowed to park there if you are going to dinner, to shop, go to a club, or just walk around. You don't have to be a BW or on site guest. I don't think they have ever given us a parking pass either. Parking at the BW is a little less restricted than other resorts as the BW is a destination in and of itself. You do have to go thru the security gate to get in the main lot. I'm not sure how they control access to the lot across the street.

We have done this and they have some times given us a pass and others they just say "Have a good time"...

Plus, sometimes if we are combining a Boardwalk activity with an afternoon or evening trip to Epcot, we go via the Boardwalk parking lot. We park and walk to Epcot around the lagoon to the World Showcase entrance. It's a nice walk any time, but at night, with all of the resort lights, the Boardwalk is especially beautiful. Plus there's the added benefit of stopping for ice cream at the Seashore Sweets on the way back to the car.
