How close is the self-parking at BCV? I know that at some of the other resorts it is pretty far away, but I am not sure about BCV. :confused3

I think parking there is very convenient. There are some villas that are very close, and you can consider those have parking practically outside your door. There is more than one set of elevators, so it's not hard to go from the parking lot to your room whereever your room is located.

Pretty darn close! ::yes:: As you can see in this aerial shot from the Disneypix.com site... (and yes there is an entrance at the end of the BCV building, but no elevator on that far end)

We still use the Valet service though... Nothing like having the car ready, waiting and already cooled off when you get in! :) Even better when its raining!

In case you aren't familiar with the terrain, the self-park lot is in the lower left hand corner of Tagrel's photo. The DVC room wing is immediately above it, looking somewhat like an upside-down "Y".

HI....we are in the process of buying bvc resale....is valet parking free to DVC members? I thought I read this somewhere? thanks..amy :flower:

Yes, DVC members can currently use Valet parking at BCV, BWV and VWL at no additional charge. (tipping is customary - we tip a couple bucks both dropping off and picking up, but many only tip when picking up)

If you valet park at any of the other Deluxes, you will be charged the $6 per day fee. Its a great perk and we have become spoiled using it! ::yes:: We usually just call valet before leaving the room, and the car is waiting for us out front when we get there. :cool1:

We use the valet parking a lot at BWV and VWL, but at BCV the self-parking is SOO close, that unless we want to "cruise" through the lobby...we generally use the self-park lots.

It is REALLY convenient to self-park at BCV.

Thanks for telling us the BCV is the upside down Y. BC is the building in front, to the left, correct? Could someone tell me where the path is between BCV and BC?

BC and BCV are practically linked together. You do need to go outside to get from one to the other, but there's an overhang to walk under (in case of inclement weather) and it's probably only 50-75' total distance.

If you look at that "Y", there's a little section on the far right that juts out perpendicular to the rest of the structure. That's where you exit the villas and walk a short distance to the BC itself.

Is valet parking available at BCV or just at the BC entrance?

In almost every regard, the Villas are considered part of the Beach Club. You need to go to the BC main entrance for valet parking, bell services, registration desk and just about any other resort service.

The Villas were built about 10 years after the original BC/YC resorts, so the villa wing was very much an afterthought. It isn't in the greatest location, and some of the rooms can be quite a hike from the main entrance to the resort.

But the villa location is still very convenient in several respects, most notably its proximity to the self park lot and Epcot's International Gateway.

To get from the entry of the BC to the entry of the BCV is seriously...about a two minute walk (if that)...and, quite a BEAUTIFUL walk it is, too!!! ;)

You walk in the lobby, turn left...go past the ME check-in desk, past the new marketplace and make a left. That puts you in the covered walkway of the courtyard. You walk about 25 yds in the covered walkway, and you are at the main entrance to the villas. It really is a nice stroll.

Is there someplace to park, while you check in? Before you go to the self park lot?
Thanks! :flower:

Unless you want help with your luggage, I'd just go straight to the self-park lot and walk to the front entrance. It's a plesant walk that will only take 2-3 minutes.

If you aren't using valet parking or need bell services help with the luggage, resorts will usually turn you away from the main entrance. They just don't have the room for a dozen cars to be parked while folks check-in.

Yes, you can drive right up to the front entrance (marked in the pic below), and bell services will typically direct you to a place to park while you unload your vehicle. Then just move your car to the self parking lot.

FYI, the self-park is right on top of an entrance to the building you might not think to use. It is a stairwell only. When we would self-park, we would enter through that stairwell entrance (you might need your key) and then walk down through the first floor hallway to the elevators up to our room. Even though our room was close to the main lobby, walking through the air-conditioned hallway beat walking around the front of the building. I also liked not having to carry my groceries through the gorgeous lobby, way too embarassing! :) There is handicapped parking just outside the door, if you need it. We are going to DVC in two weeks, and my parents will be joining us for the first time. My Mom has a handicapped parking tag and uses an ECV and I think coming in that far end will be easiest for her.
