question about new free dining offer

My friend will be traveling during the dates that will be eligible for FD and I'm trying to get more info for her. I see that the anticipated release date for Disney Visa(which she has) is July 29. When will Disney make a formal announcement saying booking begin? The actual day or do they announce a couple days before the actual day.

They supposedly send out an email about it to Visa holders the day of, but I never get the notice. I suggest she just call on the day that it's supposed to happen and see if she can get the discount.

It tends to appear sometime in the morning of the projected release day. It seems to me that it doesn't appear on the Disney website until it is released to the general public.

Correct. It will not be on the official Disney site until it is a public offer because Visa offers are exclusive to DV, DPV, and DDebit holders.

OP, your friend will just call Disney on the 29th to book.

thanks..she booked through a TA so the TA will have to be the one on the phone. She is going to email the TA to see if she has any info and to tell her to be on the phone on July 29.

Her TA is likely to say something like mine did, "it's just a rumor right now" or perhaps that she knows nothing about it. Mine has all my information and will make my reservation on the 29th. But, she herself has no information about the discount yet.
