Question about ME/Luggage Tags

We got our package from AAA, and I have some questions about tags.

There were two types of tags in the package: 1) Shiny Disney "Happiest Celebration" tags and 2) Yellow Bar coded tags.

My understanding is that the yellow tags are the ME tags and need to be attached to any bag that we intend to send to BWI via ME. The Disney tags are basically just a little free gift, right? They don't have anything to do with ME do they? I can use them for our carry-ons, and not for the checked luggage, right?

Another question is how should the yellow ME tags be applied? Should they be looped around the handles of the suitcases, or stuck flat on the suitcases? Can they be placed flat on a cardboard box that we're checking as luggage?

Yep, you got it right. The plastic ones are just normal tags, the yellow strips are the important ones. These you just loop over the handles of any luggage you will be checking. They do not get placed on the side of luggage...have to go over a handle! Not sure about the cardboard box....maybe you could put the tag on a corner, sticking out??
