Question about MDE/linking reservation

I'm not at all sure what forum this falls under!

I am staying with a friend who is a DVC member and has booked a DVC room for a weekend in November. My name is on the reservation with her, and we'll be buying our tickets separately.
She has created a MDE account and the reservation is hers, so the magic bands are coming to her address.

I already had a MDE account and have a magic band from a previous trip that will still work alongside the new one.

But how do I make it so I can also see that reservation (and the magic band when it's time) in my account? Can I just link with the reservation number, or can I only be added by connecting as "family and friends?"

Good question. I'm not entirely sure. But I would at least try to link it using the reservation number if you have it (or can get it from your friend).

You might need to do the "family and friends" thing as well. Your name being on the reservation will hopefully help get it linked.

I bet some of the seasoned DVC DISers on those forums could help out. I'd post the question over there (if this thread isn't moved over there first) under the DVC Mousellaneous section. They are very inciteful on these types of things.

Thanks! I would have posted it there, but I think it has more to do with reservations or the MDE app than DVC itself really, since DVC just counts as an on-site with regard to MDE.
Hoping for some more ideas, too.

You'll need to link your MDE to her MDE by linking via the Family/Friends section of the Profile. After you link them together, make sure there is only one of you listed so that the new MagicBand is linked to you and not You#2 in her MDE.

You don't want to be managed by your friend. Thats why you need to link so that all MBs belong to you in your own MDE.

Thanks for this reply; it was very helpful.
I linked us and then looked and there was only one of me. But when I asked her to check on her end, she could see two of me because she had created a "me" on her MDE. So she made a call and got the wrong one deleted and now all is well. So I guess she should have been the one to send the request to me, and probably shouldn't have created "me" in her profile, either.
I can now see the hotel reservation, which of course makes me really excited!
