Do they have breakfast pasteries out in the evening? I ask because I was thinking about grabbing stuff for the next morning's breakfast. Not sure if this would work....:confused3

Any advice from the pros?

We did this once! It was 4 years ago though...

that seems like a jolly good idea-i would like to know also :cool1:

I've read posts that report pastries being sold out....but then i've also read in trip reports that people have done it.....I bet it has to do with crowd levels and popularity of the item (i.e. i think the "sold out" reports were concerning the cinnamon rolls...??)

yes, they usually do have breakfast pastries, unless it is very late (around closing time) on a busy night. We have done this many times, even buying after the park officially closes since MS Bakery is one of the last places to close after fireworks. Suggest you pack some extra large ziplock food storage bags in your suitcase, though: the bags and pastry boxes they have for to-go baked goods are not air-tight so your pastries would be terrible dried out and stale tasting by the next morning (we learned that one the hard way, lol.) We have bought the giant cinnamon rolls and the apple turnovers many times in the evening before leaving MK.

HOWEVER...have to give this warning. It used to be you'd buy one of those giant rolls, and it would be fresh, warm, soft roll that was full of ooey-gooey goodness. Sad to say, the cinnamon rolls (and other pastries) are no longer made fresh in small batches throughout the day. Sometime in the last couple of years they went to making huge batches of the rolls, racking them and storing them in coolers...they take the trays straight from the fridge and put them in the display case under the lamps...unless you're getting one of the last rolls on the tray (under the heat lamp for a long time) your roll will be cold & hard--if you're buying in the evening, they sell so many of the rolls so fast they do not get the chance to warm up under the lamps. So unless you have a microwave in your room to heat & soften the MS Bakery pastries, you are going to be disappointed in your breakfast.

Most of the time now we skip MS Bakery and just get the pastries the resort counter service sells...most of them are the same pastries (though smaller cinnamon rolls) but we've found the resort rolls to be fresher and usually not rock-hard-cold.:thumbsup2

The bakery has plenty of items to choose from at closing, however if it's anything you would like depends on what's left on a given day! We've taken pastries back to the room, mid day from the Main St. bakery and from the French Patisserie/Boulangerie and enjoyed them the next morning (or later that night), better than at nighttime when the selections are fewer!

We do this every trip. However last june they sold out of the croissants I wanted. :-(
