We are heading to Bay Lake Tower in a week. My hubby and I are both runners and were hoping there was a running path around the lake. Does anyone know if there is a running path?

I could be wrong, but I dont believe there is a path that goes ALL the way around the lake. If there was youd be able to walk from the GF and PLY to the MK and CR. I know there is a path from CR to MK but believe it ends there.

Unfortunately there is not a path that takes you all the way around the lake, although there was once plans to.

But you do have a couple of options. There is a walkway from the Contemporary to a little past the Magic Kingdom entrance, and that is a pretty decent distance.

Or if you would like a change of scene, monorail over to the Polynesian, and you can run back and forth between there and the Grand Floridian, because they are connected by a walking path.

Oh, and one more option...you could take the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge, and run on the nature path between there and Fort Wilderness. That may be the longest distance one of the three.

Here is a link to some maps for running at WDW: http://disneyrunning.com/wdwtrails.html

While it doesn't go all the way around the lake, there is a very nice path that runs along the western and southern end of Bay Lake and goes between GF and Poly. It's not a heavily traveled walkway, so you should be able to jog there without problems.

The quickest way to get there, is to take the monorail around to it (get off at Poly or GF). You could also walk over to the boat docks at MK and boat to either resort. There is no way to walk over there, as there is a thin section of the lake in the way.

There is of course the pathway from CR to MK, but I would assume that's just too crowded with MK guests to make running feasible.

You could always take a boat from the Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness. They have a jogging path there. The path is about 2 miles, I think.:boat:

Having walked this once from WL to Hoop De Doo over at FW, I can confirm this to be true!

It's also very scenic, and I can't believe I forgot to add this to my post before. The only caveat is to make sure to go on this during daylight hours. It's not a well-lit path and I've never seen a CM near it, so keep that in mind.

DH loves this path when we stay at VWL.

In the past during our stays at the Contemporary we would exercise some nights by just walking to and from the Magic Kingdom, so if you are not able to run that could be another option.

If you pan around this Google map, you will see that the path to the MK fro CR ends past the turnstiles.

If pan down and to the right a little you can see the path from WL to FW.

Also once in FW you can run along the roads there. I would say there are 10 to 15 miles of roads when you add up all the loops Also there should not be the same amount of car traffic on the roads like you would see at a regular resort.

Just watch out for the golf carts and bikes.
