Anyone with suggestions on what we could do to kill some time between getting off the ship and having to be at the airport by about 3pm? (flight isnt until 5pm). I'm thinking we will have about 4 hrs (already figured in driving time from port to airport). Oh, we will be in a rental car :)

One other question: Dining on Wonder: I know Palos requires dinner jacket, and the other 3 dining area that are on rotation are nice/casual attire, but I keep reading that the dining area Triton/Lumiers (excuse the spelling, and not sure which is on the Wonder) says jacket for men. We arent sure if we will try to get ressies for Palo, so if we decide not to, will he still need a jacket to wear for Lumiers? Thanks!!

Jackets are requested in Tritons/Lumieres....On the 3/4 day cruises, you tend to see some men wearing just a dress shirt vs the jacket....

We went to Kennedy Space Center.

Does not look like anything was updated since the 60's.

I thought it was a waste of money.

We are going to Down Town Disney and spend some time before our flight which also leaves at 5pm.

We did Kennedy Space Center, but we were able to spend most of the day there. I don't think it would be worth it for your timetable. It would also be a little expensive for just a couple of hours. I felt it was worthwhile for us, but am not in a hurry to go back. We love to go to the outlets, particularly ones that have Character Warehouses, which have great Disney buys.

On our last 3 night cruise, I looked around Tritons at late seating and saw about 20-30% of the men were wearing jackets. Most were wearing either oxford cloth shirts (with and without ties) and polo knit shirts.

I was thinking of maybe heading to Celebration and checking it out.

There are character warehouse outlets at Lake Buena Vista Outlets (just south of 417); Premier Outlets (north of 417) nad at Belz outlets (north of Universal Studios).

Denise,

We did that last year and had a blast. Celebration is a beautiful place. We even toured the models and info center - visited the fire department and got to see the Celebration Hotel. Was an interesting town.

Another idea to kill time is go to Downtown Disney and see a movie or shop in the Virgin Mega Store. :p

Trishy,

I'm afraid if we do go I'll start bugging DH to relocate to Florida! ::yes::

We had a 6:00 flight last week. We started debarkation around 7:45 and by 9:15 - 9:30, we had our luggage checked at the port and were in our rental car (Budget). We spent a few hours at DD, bu the weather wasn't great, so we just ended up going to the airport.

It wasn't until I came back that I learned about the day rates at Hyatt MCO. Next time, we will do that. It was just too much time to kill for us, with our DD3.

We also went to Kennedy after our cruise in 2001. It was about a month after Sept 11 and it was a waste of money in my opnion. I don't know if they opened more areas back up for access by the public but when we went we didn't get to see much. I am hoping ot go to WDW after our next cruise. Maybe to MGM so the kids can go to playhouse disney. I would also love to see Celebration. Sounds really interesting.

One trip we went to downtown disney, last trip we went to gatorland, it was a great way to spend the morning!

We also have a 5:00 p.m. flight. We have purchased tickets for Disney Quest in Downtown Disney. My DS is 13 and DD is 10 so this should be a great ending for their vacation.

We did Kennedy Space Center after our last cruise and found it to be very crowded, dirty and disorganized in getting people through lines(and this was in January). This was a great disappointment to us since we had been there in the past and had a great time.

Hope you have a great trip!

Thanks for all the great ideas.

A couple more questions??

What is Celebration and where do I find info about it?

And if we have the Ultimate Hopper pass with our land/sea pkg (downtown disney/disney quest is included), would we have to pay the admission again to get in after the cruise since we will have been checked out of the resort 3 days before to go on the cruise? I really wanted my DS (13 & 15) to check this out (not sure if we will have time during our stay at the resort since we are also going to Univeral. I'd just hate to have to pay twice because of timing.

Jenn....what about the Hyatt MCO day rates? Can you tell me about this?

Denise

Thanks, Jenn! That sounds even better than spending the day at DD. Plan "B" now in the works!

Denise

MontiD: The ultimate park hopper expires at midnight on the day that you check-out, so they would not be good for the day you leave the ship--you'd have to buy extra tickets to go debarkation day.
