First off... with these date will we still need express pass or will it be slower and not as necessary? Second - we have the 5 day pass - but plan on spending two full days and a couple of partial days most likely.... The $10 rate I read about for the non-peak time -- is that for one day only and only one park?? Is there a combo card and if so how much in off-peak? There is just two of us going... So will I spend $20 or $40 total on these cards for two days and will it be worth it??

Secondly... I have found a rate at BestWestern MovieLand (?) for only $42 per night and it is 1 mile off site. Seems to me that the $42 per night even if $40 for extra cards is better than the $125 per night to stay on-site (for the sole purpose of FOTH privledges)... Am I right?

Thanks for the help!

I can only answer one of your questions...Yes, you will still need the FOL access....those dates are Labor Day Weekend....and mabe there may be many people not on "vacation" anymore.... but I do know us "locals" as in Floridians...go then..... Yes, our kids are back in school..but that is a 3 day weekend!!! And any three day weekend we get .... I am gone....be it Universal or Disney.... I am there!!!!

If you buy your passes in advance, they are $20 per person per day. (If you wait unbtil you get to the park, the price is $25 znd you run the risk they will be sold out.) So for two days for two people, that's $80. Or pass plus hotel equals $82 per night

If your SOLE reason for staying onsite was to get FOTL, then I'd say, "No, it's not worth it." However, there are A LOT of other good reasons to stay at one of the hotels. They are all terrific and $125 a night for Labor Day weekend sounds like a steal. If I'm doing the math correctly, the difference you're looking at is $43 per night to stay on site.

Remember, hotel express access gives you unlimited rides all day. The passes don't work the first hour the park is open and only give you one express access per ride or attraction.

Note, too, that either way (purchase the pass or stay on site) you will most likely experience waits of about 15 minutes. On busy days (like Labor Day!) waits could be longer for popular rides. On July 4, in the early afternoon, the express line for Shrek had a 40+ minute wait!
