I need some of your expert advice. We will be tent camping starting next Sunday the 20th for 8 days. We are trying to figure out what to do for breakfast. I don't want to cook unless it is a last resort. We are thinking pop tarts and breakfast bars but doing that for 8 days seems like we would get tired quick. What other suggestions do you have for us? We have talked about eating breakfast in the parks some days but not sure if there is a counter service breakfast option. We have the basic dining plan. Thanks for all your help.:hippie::yay::yay:

I would second going to the WL. Roaring Forks there has some great breakfast options. You can take either bus or boat, and then head to the parks from there.

There is always Trails Inn at the campground. They have a great breakfast.

We love cooking breakfast at camp. We have used the precooked bacon and sausage heats in seconds in the microwave or a couple minutes in the skillet with premade biscuits. Fry or scramble a few eggs.

You can also put the precooked bacon or sausage in a quart freezer bag with eggs, onion, bell pepper, little cheese, salt and pepper whatever you like and put in boiling water for a few minutes and have a omelet. Eat right out of the bag or on a paper plate with no cleanup. Everyone gets just what they want.

There is also fresh grapefruit or the prepackaged kind or citrus salad, oranges, bananas.

Before anyone turns their noses up at this one, reserve judgment until you've tried it.

Either pre-cook a bunch of bacon before you leave & store in a zip-lock bag and refrigerate, or go to Sam's and buy a package of their pre-cooked bacon. Make peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. You can heat up the bacon or not. It's yummy & will hold you until lunch time.

Or - the old peanut butter and banana sandwiches will do well, too! Use paper plates, paper towels or napkins to serve on & your only clean-up is one knife!

I grew up on peanut butter and bacon sandwiches! My kids think it's bizarre.

Another easy thing to cook at the site is french toast. I have an electric skillet which works well. Another thing is omelets. You can get all the tomato, onion and ham chopped up at the grocery store to minimize prep time.

Make sure to bring extension cords. One meal I hate buying out is breakfast since most places at Disney charge so much and you can just about feed the family for what it costs for one person at one of their restaurants.

Trails End does sale good bakery items that are reasonable so you may want to check that out.

Thanks so much for the ideas!!!!! I am feeling better about my DD's not going hungry before lunch!:thumbsup2

cinnamon rolls at main street bakery in MK are always good. Pancakes are always easy and the kids can cook them. By the just add water mix.

Since you're planning pop tarts I'll assume you're bringing a toaster. If so you can do Eggo waffles, they also have frozen pancakes you can put in a toaster or precook pancakes at home then freeze and reheat in the toaster. Also check out Toaster Scrambles or Toaster Pastries.
