Question about changing room occupants

We will be visiting WDW in December for our sons first Disney experience. He'll be 15 months then. Anyway, the grandparents decided that neither could miss his first time there and decided to come with us. We will be staying at either Pop or ASMo, but haven't decided yet. My wife, son and I will be staying in one room and the grandparents will be staying in a seperate room. My wife, son and I will be there from 12/10 to 12/18, but the grandparents are splitting the week. One set leaves on Wednesday morning and the other set will arrive Wednesday evening. Can I just book 2 rooms total (one for wife, son and I and one for the grandparents) and have the grandparents 'change places' during the week? I'm not trying to get by with anything on the sly. The reservations will be in my name and it seems to me that the departing grandparents could give me their keys when they left and I could give them to the arriving grandparents. Is this possible? Thanks!

There should not be a problem with this. Unless you have the park passes attached to the room keys. As long as the Grandparents buy their passes seperatly, you can switch keys out without any issues.

I dont see a problem either unless they use the room charging on their cards. they can just opt not to charge back to their room and when they leave just keep their room keys for the next set.If you want to make sure mousekeeping changes the sheets just remove the old sheets and places them in a pile on the floor. I would imagine house keeping will get the idea you guys need new sheets.

Thanks! We'll buy the admission from ticketmania before we go, so that won't be tied to the room key. And I'll make sure that I don't allow charge back on the key. Great idea about piling the sheets on the floor! That was one question that was asked by the second set of grandparents.

What about parking? I can't remember if I have to give license plate numbers at check in. It shouldn't be a big deal as I can just say we have 3 cars.

One problem you could run into is with EMH. From my understanding, they now put an individual name on each room key, and to get a wristband for the evening EMH's, you may be asked to show a photo ID to match up with the name on the room key. If you use the same keys, your the second set of grandparents would have the wrong name. This is something that should be able to be fixed at the desk, but you may want to call the resort directly to inquire about this .

Perhaps someone who has been since the new EMH went into affect can confirm that they were required to show a photo idea to get a wristband for the evening EMH.
