Question about carry-on items

Is it ok to carry on (through security and all that):

1- an empty stainless steel water bottle with a lemon wedge inside (is this weird? )

Will this look weird through the xray machine?

If it looks wierd, you'll be pulled aside and either an agent will open the bottle in your presence or you'll be asked to open it, or they'll hold you (not literally) aside while they open the bottle out of your reach. But it's not actually wierd.

If it is a problem I am sure you could easily get a lemon wedge from one of the food areas once you passed through security.

To get around any issues, I wouldn't put the lemon in the bottle, but would have it in a baggy in my carry-on. Once through security, then add it to the bottle.

I would put the lemon wedge in a plastic baggie, and then put it into the water bottle when you get to the gate. The bottle would, more than likely, be pulled out for closer scrutiny if the wedge is left inside it. I would just rather avoid the entire issue and put it in later.
