Question about audience participation during Cirque (La Nouba)...

Okay, here's the question...
I've read several reviews stating that guests were selected out of the audience at "La Nouba" to participate with the "clowns" at certain points in the show. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what sections these folks seemed to be sitting in? The reason I ask is because, for some reason, my Husband is almost ALWAYS picked out of a crowd of people to become the center of attention for some good-natured harrassment by some clown, comic, or actor of some sort. He goes along with it and gives the good show that was hoped for, but over time he has developed a "fear" of seeing shows (or sitting in "good" seats) because he just knows he is going to be selected out of the crowd and "made fun of" once more. I really want to get tickets to La Nouba and would like to get seats that are front and center of the second section, but I am afraid this would put my Husband right in their grasp and then you know what will happen! :rolleyes1 Anyway, I am thinking if I get the tickets in section 204 about row EE, it would make it hard for the clowns to select him. Can anyone shed light on this? Do the clowns usually only select folks that are easily accessible? (meaning folks in the first rows or near the edge of a row?) If I tuck my Husband way in the center of a long row will he be safe? You are probably wondering why he is always being picked out of a crowd. I am not sure, but I think it is his boisterous laugh, charming smile, dominant presence (he's 6'4") and the fact that he is the spitting image of Chevy Chase! :rotfl2: Anyway, I really want him to be able to enjoy the show without having that sense of "doom" that he is about to be pulled from the crowd.

i could be wrong but i thought they were plants...at first they seemed like just people but something at the end made me think otherwise ( too bad i can't remember what it was...and when we went i think it was 2 women chosen, like the clowns wanted them as girlfriends or something(foggy brain!)

if not i don't know if the seats matter..one was in the upper tier kind of mid row, middle section , the other lower tier, middle section not sure about where in the row.

No, they are not plants but I have been there several times and it is usually someone from the very first row in the front. Last time I was there they tried to pull this one guy out of the audience and he absolutey refused to go up there. So, then they grabbed someone else a few seats down and took them instead.

Thank you for such quick feedback! I am hoping that they do use plants, but otherwise I will probably avoid getting front row seats or seats right near the edge of a row. My Husband would definitely go along with them and would not refuse to participate. He really is fun-loving, but as I said, it has happened sooooooo many times that he is now a bit reluctant to put himself into this situation at all. I just don't want him sitting there worried throughout the show when he should just be enjoying it.

that's ok my husband would be leaping up trying to get their attention much to my dismay

No they are not plants. We were sitting in the last row of the first tier when all of a sudden my sister was in the spotlight. One of the clowns handed her a box then started to pile more boxes. The man in front of her helped to keep them steady as the higher they were piled the boxes began to teeter. It was really funny but developed so fast I didn't get pictures.

There are two times that they do audience participation.

The first is the Pre-Show - a couple minutes before the show starts, they clowns come out to entertain everyone sitting in their seats. They do things with boxes... I'll leave it at that. Then, the one clown pulls (usually a couple) guests from Curtain C and grabs their tickets, and procedes to.... well, you'll find out.

Curtain C is completely random.

Box Stacking is usually in the top of 103 ( high number seats ).

Then during the actual show they select someone from the audience. This usually happens from the very front row of 103 ( seats in Row A ).

good luck

Well, I just bought my tickets! I got seats in section 204, dead-center but in row HH, which is about 2/3 of the way back. I think Hubby will be safe there and we will have an awesome view! No worries! Thanks everyone!

Just get there early. You will get to see the pre-show, which is quite funny, and avoid being invoved in the ticket prank alluded to in an earlier post.

You actually got great seats. The further back the better (IMO). There is so much going on that being in the second tier makes it easier to take it all in.
