Question about arriving early and checking in

I've tried to search for this information, but I'm still having problems using the search engine.

Our upcoming trip will be the first time we arrive in the morning - 9:15 a.m. to be exact. We're using ME, so I don't believe our room will be ready when we check in.

I'm planning on checking in and then going to the parks. I believe that our luggage will either go directly to our room, or bell services will hold it until we are actually in our room.

My question is, we will have some carry on luggage (kids backpacks) that I don't want to take into the parks. Can I leave them with bell services? Or will I need to bring them with me to the parks and rent a locker?

Thanks for any help!:goodvibes

Leave whatever you wish with bell services; you'll get a receipt for them. Your DME luggage will be taken directly to your room but for the items in bell services, you call from your room and they'll bring them. :thumbsup2

Bell Services will hold your bags until you are checked into your room. I find most of the time that my room is not ready before 4:00 pm check in time. But you never know. Either way, head out to the parks and enjoy!

Thank you both so much for your help and for your prompt replies!

We usually fly into to Orlando by 9:30 am. and get the DME. Just make sure in your carry-on luggage that you have what you need for a day in the parks while you wait for your room to be ready. DVC will give you your keys to the kingdom and a phone # to call to see when your room is ready. No need to go back to the front desk, as your keys will magically work when you know your room number! For the bags you carry-on, just check them at bell services upon arrival and they will deliver them to your room once you get in it. The checked luggage from your flight will automatically be sent to your rooms and will probably be there by the time you get back from the parks. This has worked great for us and allows us to use the full day of arrival for getting right to the parks, attractions, dining etc.

Thanks for your post rbl291 - and welcome to the DIS! We're very excited about having our first day be a park day, usually we arrive later in the day and just go right to our rooms, unpack, and go to bed.
