Question About AKL In-Room Dining

We just read in Birnbaum's book that it serves food 24 hours. Is this true? On the various Disney menu sites, they don't mention this and in fact, give times for when to order different types of meals (ex. breakfast).

We are arriving late when we go on our trip, and if they do serve food 24 hours, this will help us tremendously, since we will probably be hungry. :goodvibes

No, this past January I couldn't get an order at 1150pm although they officially stop serving at midnight

I know from personal experience that there is NO food at AKL after midnight. Our flight was delayed by snow in Feb and we arrived at AKL after 12 AM. NOTHING, unless we wanted to try to order pizza from an offsite delivery place.

Good to know. Kind of stinks for a deluxe not to offer 24 hour food, but ah well. We'll just grab something at the airport then, and bring it with us to eat on our way to AKL. Thanks for the feedback.

WL is the same way - they only offer breakfast and dinner, NO LUNCH! All the other deluxes offer some sort of food delivery 24 hours (even if it is just deli sandwiches and chips), but these two don't.

Be aware that MCO doesn't have much if anything open late, so buy your midnight snack at your original or connecting airport, or you will be even more disappointed.

Is there nothing available between 11:30 p.m. and midnight at MCO?

Not that I have ever seen, and I believe that safetymom has confirmed it.

I have an Owner's Locker and keep small jars of hummus, nuts, and Nutella in my locker as a result, since I often fly 10 or more hours to WDW and arrive late at night or wee hours of the morning.

1) The Deluxe resorts do have room service 24/7.
2) From 10:00pm-6:00am they have a special late night menus.
3) WL and AKL are not Deluxe resorts.
4) They are "First Class" resorts.

NOTE: As for the airport, they eateries close relatively early. You did not say what time you were arriving. Most close by 10:00pm. McCoy's bar and Grill is open until 1:00am, and Starbucks is open 24-hrs. I fly into MCO at least 3-times per month on a late flight from Minneapolis, and there is nothing open for me to grab a bite.

I believe GF is the only resort to still offer room service 24/7. In years past I know the Polynesian was 24 hours but it has been several years since that was true.

Bavaria, that is truly poor service on AKL's part to not honor an order at 11:50. Not what you would expect of a deluxe resort. And yes, Rusty Scupper, WDW lists AKL and WL as deluxe resorts.
