Hi everyone! I've been asking a ton of questions lately about DVC b/c my DF and I are considering buying into it. What I would like to know is if we add on points is the price per point what is already in our contract or is the price when you add on the current retail rate. Meaning if we bought a contract of $80 per point would we get additional points for that or would we be spending $98 per point? Thanks!

each time you buy points , points go for what the current deal is. If the current deal is $90 now and $102 in six months, then you would pay what it is at that time you agree to purchase. I wish I could add on for what I paid. That would be great. I paid $65 at BWV.

I got a GREAT "Add-on" deal today that I thought that I would share in case there were others who were dealing with the same possible scenario. I Purchase 150 points into SSR on Jan.31 at the $83.3 per point F&F promo. I called my guide back today to add 50 points and asked that since my contract had not yet been counter executed by Disney, that I would like the same F&F price point promo that was applied to my initial allotment. He was very accommodating and made it happen. So, I am now the proud owner of 200 points all under the existing F&F promo, hooray!

This is from a post a couple of threads down .."add-onitis great deal today".

So...it seems that you can add on before the contract is finalized. I would suggest adding on a seperate contract..not 1 big contract. This is done just in case..down the road..you might need to sell for any financial reason!

Currently I believe that adding on at sold out resorts through Disney is $92 per point and $98 or $90 for SSR depending on the number of points. You should look at the re-seller boards to see if you can get a better deal if you do not need the points right away.

Although you do pay whatever the current price is, sometimes existing owners are offered better incentives to add-on...a reduction in the price per point, one-time use of extra points, etc. You are also normally allowed a specific period of time to buy at the old price when an increase goes into effect. So there are a few perks.

Do they normally give advance notice of price increases? If so, how far in advance do they let members know that prices are going up?
