Queenie's Trip to Disney - 9/30-10/8

You calendar is so cute!! I am going to do something for my daughter like that this weekend because I KNOW she is going to drive me batty once I tell her!! Sorry about your trap, that sounds yucky!!

I bet your calendar will turn out AWESOME. You are such a crafty and talented person. I can't wait to see it! :)

I know it's Wednesday, but I completely forgot to post my results this week. I also know that I said my goal for this week was 4 lbs. Well, I came up 1/2 short. I lost the 2 pounds that I gained the week before. At least it's a loss, right? :confused3 It's been really really tough for me lately. I just don't know what my problem is or how to fix it. Tonight I took a Drums Alive class at the gym (it was awesome) and I came home and ate everything in sight! Argh! Plus....................it's been so HOT :cool2: here in the Northeast that I haven't been able to continue my running program. Today the temp in my car was 102. YUCK! It's just too darn hot! Maybe I should be glad....kind of like preparing me for our trip to HOT Florida. Ha ha. One more thing (promise, not an excuse) is that I've been on steroids this week. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection last Thursday. I think they make you eat more, right?

Believe it or not, I actually got some items together for our trip. I bought a few outfits for Gabby specifically for our trip (I'll post some pics later). I put them on hangers and hung them on the back of the door. I also decided to get our bathing suits out. Last year I forgot to take mine and BF. Gabby was only able to swim in the baby pool (I actually remembered her suit). I was so looking forward to trying the lizard slide at POFQ. It's a MUST DO this trip. I think I might also look for another suit for myself. I have 2 of them and my oh my! It looks like I have 2 pieces of ham hanging from my sides instead of thighs. Not that another suit would make it look any better, but you never know. :rolleyes1 Maybe some swim suit shopping this month. Can I also add that I HATE clothing shopping for myself?!?!?!?!? It looks great on the hanger and gross on me! Which reminds me...........I need to find a dress for my sisters Labor Day Weekend wedding. Did I mention she is a size 6? :scared1:

Well, wish me luck!:wizard:

:welcome: to my roller coaster!!!! I'm up 2 . It's this weight. It's like taboo! I get down so far and then my body (well, okay, I) quit. If I could only get over this hump. I think if I could hurdle this weight I would be fine. I just need to get to the next level below. When I say levels I mean 10's. I like to see that number in the middle change. Once I get mine to change down 1 number I think it will better for me. Wish me luck!

So.........I do have a Disney update. Our DD has been going around and stealing all the change from all over the house (even in her Daddy's Corvette and truck). She puts it in her piggy bank and says it's for Disney. Her and I have had conversation and she knows that I won't let her take any money out of that piggy bank. It's been filling up since she's a baby. It's a really nice big fat pig and it's only about half full. I want it to get full before we take any money out of it (to put in the bank). That is why it's only half full. I usually put all of her money in the bank. Anyhow, she was devastated when I told her that she couldn't touch that piggy bank (not even for Disney).

So, I decided to make her a Disney Bank. I have an old metal coin can (with flowers and bugs on it). I put white paper around it and let her decorate it with mostly Disney stickers. I also made a sign on the computer "My Disney Bank". She loves it. Plus, we are hoping that when relatives come over and see it that they will contribute! Ha ha! I'll have to post a pic at a later time(sorry, at work now). :surfweb: ;)

OMG I could have written these posts myself! I sftruggle with my weight so I can totally understand how you feel!
My Gabby has been running around getting the change from around the house..not really for Disney since she just found out but still...lol

:This weekend I got bored!!! Our computer was out being fixed (since Thursday) and DD is sick, which means she just wants to sit and play by herself or lay on the couch watching movies. Poor thing!

I decided to work on her Toy Story jumper. I purchased some fabric appliques off of Ebay and decided to try to make my own outfits this year. Keeping in mind that I am NOT a crafty person! :scared1: I had a jean jumper in the closet (think she only wore it once or twice). I decided to just use that one instead of buying a new one. I guess it all worked out in the end, but boy was it giving me a headache. There are 3, yes 3, pockets in the front. One on the top center and 2 on each side in the front. This caused a little bit of a frustration. I could not fit Buzz or Woody on the front due to these stinking pockets! I played around and :confused3 played around and finally figured out where I wanted all the characters. On the front - slinky dog, mr. potato head, Hamm and a kneeling soldier. On the back we have, sarge, woody, buzz, rex and a pizza planet alien. I have a few finishing touches and then I will post pics. The appliques are not the best quality. They are peeling up already and it's only been a day or two. We ended up going to the craft store and I bought fabric glue and puffy paint. I can't wait to finish it. I also purchased silver glitter letters and silver stars. Hoping to finish it this weekend. DD saw it the other morning and she fell in love. She wanted to try it on right away. The only thing is that she was mad that Jessie was not on it. Jessie did not come with the set and I tried looking for her and couldn't find her. I'll keep looking. I still have some time and I have just the spot for her if I find her. So, we'll see!

Well, it's off to bed for me. It's been a long weekend. Still debating on skipping work and trying to make and early AM doctor appointment for DD or calling for a late afternoon appointment and daddy can take her. I guess I'll wait and see how she feels in the morning. Poor kid. I actually think it's her sinuses bothering her and the drip is making her cough because of the draining. I had a sinus infection myself about a week and a half ago. Think I gave it to her. :guilty: It kills me to hear her coughing at night. :sad1:

Hope everyone has a wondeful Monday. BTW - not looking forward to weigh-in in the morning. Went to a picnic today and I said it would be my "cheat day". I did really good last week. I did some type of exercise each day. In one day I went to the gym twice (weight lifting at lunch and a class after work) and then on my way home I stopped at the track and ran 1.5 miles. So, we'll see. I hope that one day of cheating doesn't make my number go way up. I did cheat this week. I weighed myself on Wednesday and I was down 3 lbs. So, we'll see in the morning! Wish me luck!
:thumbsup2

I think I finally realized that I need to change my weigh-in day!!! I usually have a cheat day during the week, however I still kind of watch what I eat on that day. It seems that I almost always pick a Sunday for my "cheat day". Argh.

Okay, onto the business of the weigh-in..............I am up 1 lb. Even though yesterday was my cheat day (due to a picnic) I still don't think my weight should be up 1 lb. I honestly busted my butt last week with exercise and eating healthy! I was taking extra classes at the gym, running, etc. Maybe I am going about this all wrong!!! Maybe it's not a weight issue.............since I do find that my clothing is fitting me better! Hmmmmmm.

I think I am going to get measured at my gym this week. They have been keeping track of my measurements since I started there (almost 2 years ago). My measurements have been steadily going down (VERY SLOWLY), so maybe I think that all the exercise is increasing muscle which weighs more than fat. So, maybe I am getting frustrated for no reason at all! :confused3We'll see!

On that note..................I am changing my weigh-in day to Tuesday from now on. I think that will be better all the way around. If I see a bigger number on the scale I think to myself, "why bother?" and then I start to go back to my old ways. Maybe this will help!!

:rolleyes1 It's like a roller coaster baby! :rolleyes1 If you ever heard the song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers than you know that first sentence. That is my motto song for my weight loss. Ha ha! :rotfl2: Well, maybe changing to Tuesday helped. I guess we'll see next week. This week I am DOWN 3.4 lbs. :thumbsup2 I just hope that I can keep it up. If I can keep it going than I will surely reach my goal before we leave for the WORLD.

I tried to get measured at my gym, but the girl that does my measuring has not been there the days that I am there. ARGH! I am hoping she is there tomorrow. My gym seems to be cutting back on their help. There are 4 owners and they seem to be the ones working all the time. They are currently trying to sell it, but not bites! Wish them good luck. I definitely don't want the gym to close. If it would close I will have nothing to do on my lunch breaks!

Well, I am outta here. DD has cheerleading practice tonight. This is her 2nd one. Not sure if we will continue. We'll see how she does tonight and Thursday and then decide. :confused3 She has taken dance for 2 years, so I thought she would do really good. She stood there like a bump on a log. Hoping once she gets to know some of the girls she will break out of her shell. I can't even believe that she put up this shell. My DD is the most OUTGOING little girl you would ever meet. And, LOUD! Now, given the chance to be loud she doesn't speak. Argh! :confused3 Keeping my fingers crossed for tonight. :thumbsup2

Although I will still weigh myself every week.................I will not be obsessed with the displayed number! I got my measurements done today and I was VERY happy! I lost in almost every place they measure you (arms, chest, waist, hips and thighs)!!!!! :cool1: I lost 1.5" on my thighs! I could feel my clothes fitting better, but again that stinking number on the scale! I should just through the scale out the window! Okay, so that will never happen! The only place they showed me going up was my waist. I still think that is wrong. Most of my pants fit me better in the waist. Anyhow, I am back to being a happy camper! :goodvibes

Remember my DD's Disney bank??? It seems to be growing faster than mine! Ha ha. I think I'll be asking her to buy me the Dooney & Burke purse I want! :worship: She tells EVERYONE about her bank! In turn, they give her money! Why can't it be that easy for me???

I know what you mean about the scale!! I was exercising and on weightwatchers. I was "killing" myself exercising. The scale went up a few pounds or stayed the same for over 3 months even my measurements didn't seem to be changing. I almost give up! However, I did notice I seemed to be getting "harder". Then one week I measured and lost a total 5 inches and 3 pounds. The next week it was another 2 pounds and 2 inch total. I wasn't doing anything different than the weeks before. I figured that the months prior were changing fat to muscle...then it started paying off where I could actually see it. Keep up the good work :).

I hope Gabby has an amazing birthday! I can't wait to see the Toy Story outfit. I cried too at the end!

WOW, that is wonderful and what an inspiration! I hope that happens to me. I think my problem is that I am the type of person that wants results right now. I expect to run 3 miles and lose 5 lbs immediately. :lmao: I know thats not how it works, but I can dream! :cloud9:

Okay, so this has absolutely NOTHING to do w/ Disney, but I need help! Does anyone know how to get a 4 (almost 5 year old) to pay attention at Cheerleading :cheer2: ???????

This was our 2nd week and I am about ready to shoot myself! :headache: We spend 2 hours a night, 2 days a week at practice and my DD stands around doing the following:

sucking on her hair (which she has NEVER done before)
sucking on the string to her shorts (yes, just try to picture this in your head, especially since they are short strings)
picking weeds and grass
rolling her shirt up and down
finding any kind of trash on the floor and playing w/ it (to include a rubberband that she put in her mouth)
ripping apart her poms
watching everyone else, but the coach
and
chasing the bugs!!!

I honestly don't know how the coach doesn't want to kill her! :confused3 I mean seriously..................I get sooooooooooooo irritated watching her I could just scream (well, sometime I do). The coach then realizes that I am getting upset and moves Gabby to the opposite side where I can't see her.

Last week one of the other mothers and I went for a walk around the school. Both of our girls seemed to do a little better. That mom is working this week and the Dad is bringing their DD. He sits in the car, so obviously he isn't going to walk!

If anyone has any advice, I would be glad to hear it.

Well I'm might not be the best at suggesting since i dont' have a kid, but its there somewhere where Mickey and/or Minnie are dressed up as cheerleaders? Maybe that would inspire her? Maybe she doesn't want to be :cheer2:? I have a hard time focusing now so I can only imagine me at 4! My poor parents!

I'm only going to guess that she just isn't interested or bored with it. I am with the post above that maybe if she could practice in an outfit in something she loves. Can the practice time be decreased (2 hours seems like a lot of time to captivate a 4 or 5 yr old)? I am only comparing to seeing little ones trying to sit through Fantasmic or Beauty & the Beast and I know this isn't the same since she is being active but still....

I've asked he SEVERAL times if she likes cheerleading and she says, yes! I even asked her if she wanted to quit and she said, no! I also asked her why she doesn't pay attention more and I get this !

I agree.........I think 2 hours is way too long for a 4 yr old to practice anything! However, that is the time set by the organization for practice. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask if it can be cut back. I know it gets cut back once school starts. They only practice once a week.

I've tried putting her in a skirt (since her :cheer2: outfit is a skirt) and she just plays w/ it and pulls it up. :rotfl2: Maybe I could try one of her dress up skirts. It might help!

I will say last night I told her that I wanted to practice some of her dance routines. I went on the internet searching for 2 songs. Here, Alvin and the Chipmunks have YouTube versions of both songs!!!!! I showed her and she got excited. This weekend we will practice the dances to Alvin and the Chipmunks! :thumbsup2 Here's hoping ,righ?

Thanks to you both for your thoughts! It's really appreciated! :thumbsup2

WOW, guess it's been awhile since I posted anything on my thread! Partially due to the fact that I feel like I am writing it for myself. Ha ha. :lmao: Oh well!

So, I am almost finished w/ the Toy Story outfit for Gabby. We took a trip to the Disney store a few weeks ago and I got her a pair of Jessie flip flops to go w/ it. I was sooooooooooooooo excited to find them. She was so upset that Jessie was not on her outfit, so this was the perfect touch that it needed. Will post pics as soon as it's done!

I also made her a snow white and 7 dwarfs shirt. It's snow white in the middle and the dwarfs around her. Still debating on if I want to do something else w/ the shirt or leave it be. Maybe I'll post a pic and see what everyone else thinks. (Having some issues w/ the computer. I spilled ice tea on it awhile ago and the USB port got a little messed up. Oops).

Back to the Disney store. I ended up getting Gabby 3 pair of flip flops. They were $1.99 each..................how could I resist? In addition to Jessie she got Ariel and a pair w/ a few Princesses on it. She also got a Tink water bottle (for cheerleading), Jessie shirt, Minnie shirt and 2 stuffed animals (forget already what she finally decided on). She also took $100 from her Disney Bank and got a gift card. Cute story..............I asked her which gift card she wanted. After looking them over she simply stated "Uh...........the b-day one. It's my special day so I NEED the b-day card!!" :rotfl2: I just can't wait to see how she is going to act on her "special" day at Disney. This outta be good!

Now onto my excitemet! :yay: I am getting to plan someone else's Disney trip! Yeah for me! Our friends are planning on taking their DD early in February for her b-day! Our friends have been once (years ago) and this will be their DD's 1st time! :woohoo: I LOVE planning our Disney vacation and this will be no different! I also told my friend that I would make their DD a special shirt or outfit to wear! :dance3: She told me this last week one night and I practically figured everything out for her within the first hour we got off the phone. I built her a spreadsheet (nicer than my own I might add) and figured out places for her to eat. They basically decided to stay where we stay (POFQ) and do DxDDP. They will have enough meals for 2 signature meals! I think I will send them to the castle for breakfast for one of them and the Hoop Dee Doo for the other. We are doing the SOA for the 1st time this trip, so w/out ever doing it before I don't want to recommend it to them. We did the Hoop Dee Doo last year and LOVED it. Guess your wondering why we changed it this year since we loved it so much? Well, I figured we would try something new! I told her about the DIS. Maybe she'll get hooked like me! I also told her about decorating the room for DD's b-day. It's a MUST! Will keep everyone up to date on my plans for them too! :thumbsup2

:cheer2: Cheerleading Update :cheer2: Gabby seems to be doing much better at it. Last week we had pictures. While leaving the pictures she was screaming one of her cheers! :headache: She also screamed it the whole way home! Tomorrow night we are going to practice her half time dance. Hoping we can get that down pat before the next practice. :thumbsup2 Only 2 more weeks and practice drops down to one night a week due to school starting! Can't wait! Next week is our first game. :scared1: Hoping she does good!!!! :wizard:

Tomorrow is our one week mark for school! I just can't believe my baby is starting school. Just seems like I brought her home from the hospital not too long ago! Where did this time go??? I am preparing myself for MANY tears :sad2: her first day of school. Have you seen the going back to school commercials??? Well, I seem to be crying at all of them! :rotfl2: When I was in high school and in the military my friends told me that I was COLD HEARTED. :cool2: I NEVER showed my emotions! I always had a tough exterior. :cool1: Well, Gabby has changed this! I just don't know what happened. It seems I cry at the drop of a dime (well, if she is the one dropping the dime). I just don't want to be crying in front of everyone else at the school. Her school has a tradition..............everyone (parents and students) meet in the parking lot the first day of school for a prayer (she is going to Catholic school). All those parents, all the teachers, all the kids.................and me crying! :confused3 Oh well! I'll just have to deal w/ looking like a weenie! :rotfl2:

Until next time.............................................

Hey, I'm loving this PTR! I think you are going the same time as my sons Physical Therapist!! This will be her first trip as well and she and her dh are surprising their 7 year old son!! I think she is even staying at the same resort as you. lol

:wave2: WELCOME!!!! We will be there 9/30 - 10/8, staying at POFQ. We love it there. Our friends that I'm planning their trip are going beginning of Feb. 9-14 (??). They are surprising their 6 yr old daughter. She wants me to plan the whole trip (as if I was going). Even down to the dining. Ic an't wait. I already have most of it planned. I did tell her to go and look at the menus. Their choice of food might be different than ours, but I did suggest the character meals that I know their daughter will love . Our DD4 has her favorites. Last year we did the surprise thing. It was nice, but I love having her input on where she wants to eat...............CRT, of course.

If your son's PT is staying at POFQ they'll love it. It's a great resort. :thumbsup2

I was wrong...they are staying at the CBR. I think she'll love that too. We are staying at OKW for the first time!! yippee I can't wait. I also love planning other people's Disney trips.
