Queen, Jasmine and a Disney Virgin...will he love it like we do?

Whew!!! I finally caught up!!!!!!!

And you know me... I have to comment on things. So those of you that have some wisdom will just want to skip this post, I'm sure. :rotfl2:

and says "it's true mom, you have a gift for making people cry"....I wasn't really sure how to take that!!!

Of course, it all depends on the mood in which it was said, like everything else, right?

Hypermommy texted me on our first day in Florida and told me I could have left the cold at home:lmao:

Yeah... and you never did take it back! LOL

"who's that" and he would say I don't know....she looked at me at one point and said "clearly I should have worked with him before we left" we all had a good laugh.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

As you can see, crowds were at a minimum on this our first day....

Couldn't have anything to do with your lazy butts staying in the room until 10'something, could it?
/me ducking and running

How fun to see it through the eyes of someone who appreciates everything!!

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Not only is it his first time but he's old enough to appreciate the detail and things like the free busses that are so organized and get you everywhere but being his first time he also let that feed into his appreciation of the magic. I could tell just by talking to him that there's another life-long Disney convert here.

I was turning the cart....not very well either, accordingly to them. Truth be told, I was doing it on purpose.....keep it interesting:lmao:

Now that's the queen I know and love!!!!

on their upcoming graduation. It was hilarious beyong belief to see the look on Aladdin's face...he looked at us and said "how's she know that" and Jasmine didn't skip a beat, she leaned over the table, grabbed his hand and said, "Disney magic, isn't it wonderful".

Ahhhhhh... you've surely raised that girl right!!!

Too funny, I guess boys will always be boys.

Amen there!! The one at my house that gives me the most trouble is the 50 year old.

Of course I made the kids stop for the obligatory picture...don't they look happy. I know all they wanted to do was get to the ride, but mama needs the pictures.

It's the golden rule... you have the gold that paid for the trip so they just have to shut up, smile and look at the camera! (I'm such a mean person sometimes... okay, most of the time).

My response when they would look around to see where I was " it's ok, I'll catch up, I'm just trying to take it all in". I don't think they bought it...as I rushed to catch up with them I could hardly breathe never mind talk.

You know... with as smart as those kids are that's quite likely by design. :-)

This shot brought back memories of the first time we rode with my little Mini Montana (niece) her comment was "these ghosts really need to dust.

LOL LOL LOL... that girl's so stinkin' cute!!!!!

BTW... thanks for all the ToT pictures. I've been too much of a chicken to get on it. I don't like being scared and I have a blood pressure thing so I just have never thought that all the anticipation leading up to the big drop(s) was such a good idea medically. At least that's what I tell the kids when they beg me to go on it. One of these days I'll screw up the courage. Or maybe I'll just bit the bullet, grab some liquid fortification and hit the tower!

Aladdin's first real view of exactly what we were getting on. It ran through my mind to tell him we had to stand, but then I thought I would be nice.

You're slipping, you know.... :-)

Mr. Potato head was hilarious, I never realized he was interactive until this trip....it was so fun watching the little ones talk to him like he was a real person....priceless.

What do you mean "like he's a real person"???? Whatchu talking 'bout, Willis?

worst behaved little girl behind us and her parents did nothing. The dad picked her up because she kept taking her shoes off and her grandma said something to her and she kicked her in the face...the dad and mom did or said nothing. Jas and Aladdin's mouth's were hanging open. It was funny to listen to them about how they would have handled the situation...I was actually impressed with both of them. Oh well, everyone parents in their own special way I guess

Yeah, and then the rest of us have to put up with these self absorbed little brats as they grow up. Heaven forbid that we do something to harm their precious self-esteem!!!!

Sorry... I shouldn't be so rotten. Never know what's going on and maybe the little girl has some condition that we know nothing about. It's just a personal pet peeve of mine. Now I know I'm the marshmallow mom, but I tell you what... my boys better act right in public or they'll hear about it!!!!! Of course, now that they're older there are more shades of grey in their lives and behaviors but they know the bottom line rule is that your right to swing your arm stops at the tip of my nose.

Sorry... I guess I've gone off on a tangent. Just a personal pet peeve of mine these days ;-)

Would love to hear some of the kids' ideas on how to handle the situation. I have to admit that one of the funniest things in the world is listening to someone that doesn't have kids give advice on parenting. But knowing these two kids, their advice probably was pretty good.

She said, no worries though, the man said they have room. I was stunned, in 12 years of coming to the World I have never been able to walk in to that restaurant and get a table. We decided we would wait in the lounge.

There's something to be said here about God looking after children and.... oh, something. :-)

This cracked me up...I thought for sure he was going to buy this, but he didn't.

Oh too cute!!!!! Love him in the rasta hat!!!!!

Great pics he took. Very sweet of him taking the panda picture for MM. That boy's quite a young man!!

After he walked up and down the line of people waiting to see him looking for a pen and paper, he just took Jasmine to the phone behind where he was and instructed her to punch in her phone number.....this went on for a good 5 minutes

This is just tooooooo hilarious!!!!

I told the kids to do their best bug impersonations...apparently, Jasmine had been hit with Raid...and was losing her mind I do love this picture though...that's my crazy girl

LOL LOL LOL at the bug picture!!! I don't know what kind of face I'd make if someone told me to look like a bug. LOL

As we walked up, I saw her standing there texting, and I knew it was me she was texting!! I just walked up and stood in front of her and when she looked up we just hugged each other harder than you can imagine.....I felt like I had finally found my long lost friend and I can't tell you how happy I was.

Yep, it was you! :rotfl2:

There's no way you could have been happier than me! I had SUCH a wonderful time!!!!! The only reason I left as early as I did was because of having to go to work the next morning. But maybe next time you're down I'll have tix and we can close down a park together!!!! I had so much fun catching up with you and you're right, it did feel like we'd known each other forever!!!!!!!!!!

she is truly the funniest, kindest, most interesting person....we loved her

Now you know you shouldn't lie like that. Definitely not kind... at least I try not to be. Interesting? Maybe... like a train wreck or something. LOL.. <I'm blushing by the way>

My Southern accent? LOL LOL Lemme let you meet my sister sometime. She still lives in SC and boy, oh, boy! Compared to her, my accent is just a dog that won't hunt!

A young man at the table next to us volunteered to take a picture so we could all be in it, but let me tell you, he was 2 sheets to the wind and then some...thus the quality of the picture lol...oh well he meant well!!!

LOL LOL!!!! A bit fuzzy, but then again, I think I might have been a bit fuzzy too, so that's probably what caused it.

How wonderful that you got to meet hypermommy. I knew you guys were arranging it and I'm glad it worked out for ya all. See I tried to throw in a southern spin there.

Quite nicely done! Hey, maybe if I try, I can get the whole board talking right, huh?

Can't believe you are like Peg with bugs!! When we were kids we were on my grandma's front porch and I told her that she had a daddy long legs in her hair and because I tormented her on a daily basis she didn't believe me....until it started crawling down her face:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:makes me laugh to this day!!!1

It was wonderful meeting Hypermommy, I am telling you, funniest person!!! She had Aladdin in stitches....she told us she was gonna make us grits next time we come...and hush puppies....I can't wait...even though I don't know what either is:rotfl2:

I can just see you doing that with Peg too!!!! LOL LOL LOL And after you've had grits and hushpuppies, you might just want to plan on moving down here! :-)

Where we live the legal drinking age is 18, which Jasmine turns this year, but she does want to go to WDW for her 21st because she wants to be legal around the "world" which means world showcase!! You have to have a grey goose slushie in France....my favoritie drink in all the World!!!!

If you take that girl drinking around World Showcase, you gotta let me know. I definitely would like to partake of that with you!!!! Boy, I think y'all are fun and funny now? That could be just soooo cool!!!

That's what I've told the EMs I'll give them for their 21st if they like. Should be fun!

Aladdin still talks about her stories!

Ruh roh... I should probably be scared shouldn't I? See that's what happens... people always seem to remember me much more than I remember them and I guess the reason is that I show my butt just a bit too much. :rotfl2: Tell him to remember to take everything with a grain of salt.

Entering Adventureland...don't they look happy? We were a little sad that SM was closed but I kept reminding them there would be more trips in the future.

Love that pic of them entering Adventureland!!!! Just perfectly framed and colors and everything!!!!

Great shots of Agrabah too!!!

You would never have gotten me on this ride as a child, so I was so surprised last summer when my 5 year old niece went on with Jas and I and didn't flinch...she was, however, concerned that the ghosts weren't dusting enough.

You realize, of course, that you just gave me some serious ammunition for when we do get to go to the parks together. Bwwaaaaaahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And again, that MM is truly stinkin' cute! Since she loves dusting so much, you think Peg would rent her out to me for a few hours next time y'all come down?

We had a wonderful time on HM and Aladdin couldn't get over how "sick" everything was....I learned on this trip "sick" was a good thing!!

So it's "sick" now, is it? Guess that's better than straight for good and gay for bad. Of course, I guess everything's just groovy, huh?

Are you kidding me..."what makes you so special" is what was going through my head, but I kept my filter on and nothing spilled out....this time!!!!

Ohhhh, you're slipping, girl! :-)

with his family and his dad was making fun of me for taking food pictures.....non-Diser's...they just don't get it do they?

Did you tell them we call it food porn? Nah... probably a good idea not to. They might not let you take their boy again ;-)

and I have to say Aladdin was quick on the draw of grabbing the camera to take this picture...made my day!!!

That boy's a definite keeper!

And I loved the strawberries and that Mickey!!!! Wonder if I could go there and just get that! ;-)

Okay, I'm thoroughly enjoying your TR.... hopefully I can stay caught up this time!!! :rotfl2: Although i must say it was fun reading about your hopes that the US and Canada would play for the gold. What are you, telekepsychic or something? Congrats on the game!!!

Gotta run... time to head off for work.

Thanks for the info! And the price definitely seems worth it, nothing really surprises me when I'm in WDW, it's funny how you don't bat an eye at those prices for little things, like 3.00 or so for a bottle of Coke, but here I won't buy one unless it's on sale for .99. haha Guess once you drive through the gates they put a spell on you.
Thanks again!! I will definitely do that for my girls, they would love it!!

Isn't it funny how we don't blink when it's $3....that made me laugh out loud, because I have never even thought about it....I will now though:lmao:

I'm so proud that you decided to accept Aladdin for his name. And after meeting the young man I can tell you that it's definitely appropriate... this boy is definitely a diamond!!!!

Love y'all's hoodies! And congrats on last night's game/medal!!! What an exciting finish, huh? KC says that boy that scored the goal is due to beat all Gretzky's records. What a cool feather in his cap, huh?

LOL at thinking of things to tell that lady at the airport later. I knew you'd come up with something! :-)

Oh, that Aladdin is so smart. That young and he's already learned that sometimes it's just easier to do what your woman wants you to do whether you think it's sane or not. Smart boy!

Great shots from the plane!!!!!!!!!!

LOL LOL LOL @ the pilot's choice of words regarding Calgary!!! They just don't think sometimes, do they?

I think your hair (at the ME desk) is perfectly fine! :-)

So much fun seeing Aladdin being all excited over our currency. I can't get used to it... after having nothing but actually green greenbacks all my life, I can't get used to the colors. It looks like Monopoly money to me! Still spends just as good, though! :-)

Love the main gate shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the Sunshine State.

Mmmmmmmm..... food porn!!!!

Awwww.... what a wonderful thing for him to say regarding Illuminations and his day. I tell you, this boy should start an online business where he helps other boys know how to treat their young women. I don't think mine are rude or anything but more "normal". EM#1 just had to apologize becuase he hasn't called his girl in a week. I can't see that ever happening with Thomas.

Okay, I'm going to have to stop with your Epcot day back here on page 10 (which I say to remind myself where I was). I can't wait to get on again and read more!!!!

Yup, you were right, Aladdin was really the only name we could go with.

Thanks, we were pretty happy, when the US scored with 30 seconds left, I looked at Jasmine and said "I don't know if I can take another 20 minutes of this"....I heard on the radio today it was the most watched show in Canadian history.

You think your money looks like Monopoly money...have you seen ours???:rotfl2:

Those tuxedo strawberries were perfect! What a great idea.

We never made it to LTT when they had their characters. I really wanted to go back to WDW while Crystal Palace was down so I could give it a try. I couldn't convince Dh though.

Love the waterstained Mickey on the road. What a great way to spread the magic.

Yeah for blue skies. Sometimes it's the little things that really matter the most.

Mmmmmm, just thinking about the strawberries, they are so yummy!!

I was thinking as I was reading this...we really need to get a rough plan together of our "girls only" trip.....if we have a goal, it makes it more real....were you thinking when your kiddies are a little older?

Finally I get over here to catch up

I am going to be so behind when I get back from vacation :guilty:

I love the pics on Aladdin's carpet ride how fitting for the two of them :cutie:

Sorry about the rude woman at LTT :sad2:

I love the Haunted Mansion! It does make me jump though

I am glad you got to take the Mickey back home that's what we did with ours and I was shocked we were allowed to take it through security

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I was a little embarrassed when I said to them, we all need to squeeze together because I'm not going on here by myself:lmao:

It seems everytime we go to LTT someone is yelling....they obviously forget where they are....I always look at Jasmine and say...they don't get it, they forget how lucky they are to be here, who cares if you have to wait 10 more minutes, enjoy your surroundings.....they don't:rotfl2:

Hi Queen!!! Great updates...the MK pics were amazing...loved the pic of Jas and Aladdin on the carpets. How great was it that the characters were back at LTT while you were there:banana: That Mickey looks tasty..and how did you manage to get him home in one piece!!! :worship: I guess this will be my last update before we leave TONIGHT at 3:30 am :scared1:(I guess that is technically tomorrow...but whos keeping tabs :rolleyes1 LOL):rotfl2: You need to try and pace yourself with your updates...don't get too far ahead, or I will be reading for hours:surfweb: trying to catch up!!!:lmao: Can't wait to hear more when we get back!!!

You are in Disneyland as I type this.....I know you're going to have a wonderful time my friend and can't wait to see you when you get back:hug:

Hi Queen, great updates as usual!

I love the MK pics of Jas and Aladdin on carpets! So cute!! :lovestruc

LTT - miss those characters and the food, haven't been back since they took away the characters. mmmm....hungry for turkey and stuffing now! :rotfl2:

Oooo...I want one of those mickey's and strawberries! That was such a nice treat you gave the kids! :woohoo:

Thanks Liz:hug:

I missed the characters when we went to LTT in August, it was so nice to see them again:love:

I want a chocolate covered strawberry now too!!!

I Love looking at your pictures. Once again your DD is so photogenic.

I think it's so great that you and your DD have such a wonderful relationship. Sometimes I can't wait for my DD to be older, and at other times I want her to stay 3 forever.

Sorry you had to ride HM by yourself. That's what sucks about having an odd number of people with you when you go to Disney. I always hate when I have to ride by myelf too. This year, I'll have a baby sitting on my lap though. Hopefully he'll handle most of the rides pretty well.

I think this trip is going to be more about ambiance for me rather then thrill rides. I'll stay behind taking pictures and hanging with the baby while everyone else enjoys the rides. Don't get me wrong, I'll still do my fair share of the rides! So excited!!

Well, great update as usual.... Hope to read more before I leave on my trip.

I love the relationship Jasmine and I have....I laughed the other day there when a co-worker said oh your so lucky to have such a good girl.....I said luck has nothing to do with it, it's called parenting. :lmao: I know what you mean, but believe me, before you know it she'll be 17....I remember someone saying to me "little people little problems, big people big problems" how true this is....I miss the days of knowing she was tucked safely in bed at 730.

I think you're going to have a great time hanging with the baby. There is nothing I love more than to grab a drink and sit on a bench and watch the world go by.....especially at WDW....you never know what you'll see or hear:lmao:

Whoops, got a little excited and hit enter before I was done....Hypermommy, you crack me up....I can't even respond to all you said....really girl, you need to keep up cause I need to comment on your posts ok?:lmao:

The reason I can't comment is I don't know how to cut and paste like y'all:lmao:

You think your money looks like Monopoly money...have you seen ours???:rotfl2:

Only the coins.... something else you'll have to educate me on when you come back. :thumbsup2

hypermommy's back hypermommy's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Run!!! Run for the hills!!!!!! :scared1::scared1:

Such is definitely my goal.

But check this out.... it was STARTING to get a little bit warm, or at least tolerable, around here. And I reply to your post and once again it's below normal temperatures. What are you doing to us here, girl???? Y'all can keep that cold up there, y'hear?!?!?

But I promise (/me stands here holding her right palm up in the air) that I will make every attempt to be much more punctual in my comments.

Forgiven???? (you can't see the puppy dog eyes I'm making but they're there).

Hi Queen, I'm off tomorrow to the world for our short trip and 5K ;) So no more internet as of this afternoon, must pack (yes, I know...bad girl just packing now but I had loads of :laundy: and wasn't sure how cold it would be so?!?!)

Just wanted to let you know I'm bookmarking this page so I know where to catch up when I get back. And let you know why I'm not commenting the next few days

Don't have too much :yay: fun without me. Be back soon popcorn::

I'll say hi to the mouse for you, Jas and Aladdin!! and perhaps a grey goose slushie (or two :rolleyes1)

Really, you've only seen the coins....our $5's are blue, our $10's are purple, our $20's are green, our $50's are red and our $100's are brown.....that's Monopoly money....I'll be sure to bring some and show you!:lmao:

We're having beautiful spring like weather right now....so you can't blame it on me anymore.....maybe I should come back and see if it changes:confused3

FORGIVEN MY FRIEND.....not sure if I'll get to your TR tonight but for sure on the weekend!!!

I had loads of :laundy: and wasn't sure how cold it would be so?!?!)

Oh, bring something warm 'cause it's been soooooooo cold. It's Queen's fault..... she brought down this arctic air and took the nice springlike temps back with her. Sorry, I doubt she'll give them back anytime soon. I know, I know... she's ruining vacations for folks but it's all about her. Just ask Peg... I'm sure she'll tell you! :-)

It was above zero here today....for you guys....it was above 32!!!!! So gorgeous....we actually had a UV index today....and I needed my sunglasses....and I had to turn the heat off in the car.......:lmao:

Joining in! I am really enjoying your report!

So happy to have you along......WELCOME!!!!!

I'm loving your trip report and can't wait to hear more! Sounds like you guys had an awesome vacation.

I promised a Sunday post and here I am! I met my girlfriend for breakfast this morning....her and her family were in Disney the same week as us, but we neglected to finalize any plans for a meeting, so we met this morning to share stories and pictures. Her and her husband took 2 out of 3 of their grown children. Her pictures were wonderful and it was nice to hear her take on things...they always go at that time of year but even she said it's never been that cold when they've gone or had that many people.

On with the post....another day at DHS...Aladdin had already decided this was his favorite park, I think mostly because him and Jasmine thoroughly enjoyed ToT and RnRC. It was nice for me to know there was no pressure of disappointing her by not going on the rides because she had Aladdin. I have to say, I really enjoyed their enjoyment...it didnt' bother me at all to sit and wait for them after each ride. I truly wanted to sit, relax and take it all in. We tend to rush around thinking about how much money it takes to brings us here and we miss some of the little things going on....well not this time. We took time out of our days to watch the street entertainment and I will take time to do this every trip in the future now.....I have never laughed so hard. This crew was hysterical....Rosie the cleaning lady had Aladdin bent over he was laughing so hard. From her makeup to her embelished New York accent...it was 20 minutes of pure entertainment.
306-1.jpg

I cannot for the life of me remember this character's name, but she was perfect too. They were "casting" the lead female role in a movie and there was her, Rosie the Cleaning Lady and a young girl from the audience and the male director.
307-1.jpg

Rosie making fun of the other lead female because the director was telling her how fabulous she was and Rosie was having none of it.
308-1.jpg

She kept re -applying her bright red lipstick and not well I might add....Jasmine turned to me and said "Trish should come here to do this". This is a very dear friend of mine and she has a talent for doing characters and impersonations. It would be perfect for her, but real life keeps her in Winnipeg.
310-1.jpg

It was now time for Rosie to read her line.....we were cracking up. She was over the top and so funny....we could have watched her all day.
311-1.jpg

You can see from all the guests faces how much they are enjoying this performance. It seems they have brought back the street entertainment and I couldn't have been more thrilled. We used to love to take time out and watch them, but they seemed to have disappeared over the years, I'm sure it had something to do with lay offs due to the economy....so happy they're back though
313-1.jpg

We decided we would head over the Disney Animation and this is one of my favorite topiaries in all of the parks so I had to stop and take a picture.
314-1.jpg

315.jpg

We thought we would have time to go through the animation part before lunch so we headed into movie with Mushu....this never gets old to me! I love that little character! Once we were through though we realized we wouldn't have enough time to do the drawing so we just jumped in line to see Frozone and Mr. Incredible. We no sooner got in line and it was time for their break. No big deal, we would just wait. When they returned it was Mr and Mrs Incredible. This made Aladdin very happy as this was one of his favorite movies. I loved how the kids told them they wanted to pose!! I love this picture I just wish it had not been a little blurry.
318-1.jpg

We really wanted to go in and do the drawing but our ADR time for lunch was quickly approaching so we decided we would go to lunch and come back. Aladdin is an incredible artist so we really wanted him to experience this....Jasmine and I, not so much....stick people are our speciality.
319-1.jpg

We arrived about 15 minutes before our ADR so we were waiting in line to check in and we were almost to the front with only one person in front of us and this guy comes out of nowhere and says to the lady we have an ADR for 2pm...the girl that was in front of us stood there with her mouth open....she finally said "excuse me, the line up is back there and you just interrupted me"...I had to laugh because I thought good for you!!! He wouldn't go to the back though, he stood there until the CM finally told him he would have to go to the back of the line. Takes all kinds right? Aladdin couldn't believe it when we walked in and he saw it was like a drive in. He loved it. We had a wonderful server here who take such good care of us and really interacted with the kids. She was asking them what their plans were for after high school and that she hoped they did well...she was a gem. I forgot to take pictures of the food.....I got really bad for that.....but we all had the burgers and fries. Jasmine and Aladdin split a chocolate milkshake and I had a coke. We also had sundaes for dessert....the food was very good!!!
320-1.jpg

The refreshment stand at the back....this reminds me so much of being a kid. My parents used to take my sister and I to the drive in all the time. We loved it....in our pajamas with our pillows and blankets....seems so simple, but it is some of the best memories we have. I'm pretty sure we saw every James Bond movie at the drive in. Jasmine got to experience our local drive in before it closed a few summers ago.....her first and last movie at the drive in was Spiderman.
321-1.jpg

One of the tables beside us....the restaurant never did fill up, there were empty tables the entire time we were there, yet they were turning walk ins away....not sure why though
322-1.jpg

After a very filling lunch, we headed over to Lights Motors Actions, but quickly realized we were a little too early. I grabbed this shot of the kids before the crowds started to come. Aladdin couldn't wait for this show, he is a car nut! I knew he was going to love it.
323-1.jpg

Since we're here, I said stand there so I can take a picture....it was the theme for the trip. As we were waiting, I thought maybe we had enough time to do the backlot tour which we haven't done in ages, so off we went to get in line. Aladdin was a bit nervous because of the size of the line, but we assured him it moves pretty quickly.
326.jpg

I laughed at the picture because Aladdin looks grumpy and he's never grumpy...I think he was nervous that we weren't going to make it in time for LMA!!!

I am going to post this quickly because Jasmine and I have to run out and get groceries, but I will finish this day later on!!! I hope you enjoy!!!

Great update! I've always wondered what the 'cars' look like inside of Sci-Fi... :thumbsup2 And I loved the pic with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. :lovestruc

Your update really makes me feel like I am there, thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Sayhello

Yep! It really bothers me when people do that to perfectly entertaining trip reports! lol

Queen...I'm loving reading your updates. :dance3: As I told you before we are going on our "suprise" trip over spring break in 18 days. Our plan is to pull over as we get close and let the girls open up gifts that will be tshirts that were designed on here btw...I also bought them fairy dolls.:tinker: Then the plan is to pull on into WDW and go to Shades of Green. We are so exicted. And no, to answer your question, I am not doing a PTR. I've never done any type of trip report before. Mayhaps I'll try one when we're thru! :confused3 Thanks for the wonderful pics and for keeping me smiling as I dream of our vacay...:lovestruc
