Queen, Jasmine and a Disney Virgin...will he love it like we do?

I keep going back and forth over the sci fi place. We've never been. I think I might put it on the list for our extended family trip in 2011. My nephews are big car fans. The Disney character kind of cars fans. Not like Aladain.

I'm looking forward to seeing the street characters again too. Since we are not roller coaster people we will be watching out for them. That is if we can fit them in between our beauty and the beast shows. With all these dancers in our family that will be our priority.

I hope you make it back to the animation building again as well as the car show.

I best get this post finished. Yesterday got away from me and with the Oscar's on last evening...well you get the picture:lmao:

I left off with us going on the Backlot Tour. I have always enjoyed this ride, if nothing more than to get off our feet for a while. We sat Aladdin by the edge so he could get the best view....and we were hoping he would get a little wet in Catastrophe Canyon:lmao:

328-1.jpg

We then headed over to LMA. We, unfortunatley, didn't get to sit in the centre of the stadium, but it was good nonetheless. Aladdin thought I was quite brilliant when I was able to answer all the questions on the big screen...that is until Jasmine told him we had just seen it in August, that's how I knew all the answers....:rotfl2:
329-1.jpg

The set before the show got underway. There were only 2 shows playing the day we were there so it was now or never and I knew this was a must do for Aladdin.
330-1.jpg

Waiting for the show to start....as you can see no sweatshirts on this day! Even though it was overcast, it was actually quite warm considering how cool it had been.
331-1.jpg

The show begins....and all we heard was "this is so sick" "this is the best show ever" "thanks so much" nothing like seeing it through the eyes of a newbie, it truly is the best feeling ever. What we take for granted after so many trips, he made us remember how truly awesome everything is.

After the show we wandered around a bit, did some shopping until it was time to get in line for Fantasmic. I was so excited to see the show, not for us, but for Aladdin. It is one of my favorite shows at WDW. I love the music, I actually have the CD in my car, I love how many characters are in the show and I love the special effects. It's Disney Magic at it's best. The only mistake we made was not bringing warmer clothes for after the sun went down. It sure got chilly quickly and to make matters worse the wind came up so when the water sprays went up the were blown into the crowd so now we were cold and wet....lovely combination!!! All I could focus on at this point was how badly I wanted a hot chocolate!! Aladdin ran up to the room when we got to the hotel to grab our mugs and that's exactly what we did....we had ice cream and hot chocolate!!! Get cold....have a hot drink....get cold...have a hot drink....you get the picture.

We headed up to the room after our treats watched a little television and we were out like lights!!!!

UP NEXT....EPCOT!!!!

Great update and photos. I feel like I am there, your pics are so clear. Can't wait to read more!! :)

Thank you, I'm so happy you're enjoying it as much as I am enjoying writing it!

Great update! I've always wondered what the 'cars' look like inside of Sci-Fi... :thumbsup2 And I loved the pic with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. :lovestruc

Your update really makes me feel like I am there, thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

I'm glad I took that picture then!! They really are cool and we just happened to luck into no one being at that table so it was perfect!

Your welcome, glad to do it!!!

Queen...I'm loving reading your updates. :dance3: As I told you before we are going on our "suprise" trip over spring break in 18 days. Our plan is to pull over as we get close and let the girls open up gifts that will be tshirts that were designed on here btw...I also bought them fairy dolls.:tinker: Then the plan is to pull on into WDW and go to Shades of Green. We are so exicted. And no, to answer your question, I am not doing a PTR. I've never done any type of trip report before. Mayhaps I'll try one when we're thru! :confused3 Thanks for the wonderful pics and for keeping me smiling as I dream of our vacay...:lovestruc

I can't believe your trip is almost here:cool1: I love the time right before you leave when everything starts to fall into place.....you are going to have so much fun.

I really hope you do a TR, it keeps the magic alive for you even longer:cloud9:

Your plans with the girls sound great, I can't wait to hear how it goes!!!!

Our first trip in 1998 with Peg and Geodoc, we went to Sci Fi and the service was awful, horrid, I swore we would never go back! But Jasmine and I decided to give it another go in August and it wasn't bad. She knew Aladdin would love the atmosphere so we booked. My nieces would hate it because of the "horror" trailers....

Beauty and the Beast......:cloud9: just makes me smile

Jasmine and I are thinking early September as long as she saves enough money, I'm not paying this time!!!!!!:lmao:

We're back and I'm all caught up!:) Glad you enjoyed the streetmosphere acotors! They are so fun, I don't understand why most people just rush past them. Glad you enjoyed SciFi! We thought the food there was good! Great pics of LMA and Catastrophe Canyon! :thumbsup2

I see you're thinking of early Sept. which is funny because Caitlin said several times on our trip, "I wish Queen and Jasmine would go the same time as us because we'd all have so much fun!" So we're hoping you girls do decide to go and it overlaps us!

OMG....I didn't get to say good luck and have fun and think of me and and and.......oh dear I feel awful....I'm gonna miss you for a couple of days:sad2:

We would never have fun without you....we'll wait:rolleyes1

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have a grey goose slushie for me......:yay::woohoo::hug:

No worries Queen, thought of you as we wandered the world for our way too short trip. But at least with the 5K I got to go around EPCOT twice and catch all the topiaries again from the Flower & Garden Festival. Have to get the pics uploaded, but I'm thinking I might to do a TR even though it will be super short as it was really just a long weekend trip :)

Oh, bring something warm 'cause it's been soooooooo cold. It's Queen's fault..... she brought down this arctic air and took the nice springlike temps back with her. Sorry, I doubt she'll give them back anytime soon. I know, I know... she's ruining vacations for folks but it's all about her. Just ask Peg... I'm sure she'll tell you! :-)

Thanks Hypermommy, oh yes, it was definitely cold!! We did bring extra layers, thank goodness, at 5:30am standing in EPCOT parking lot waiting for the race to start, I was never more grateful for extra layers! It did warm up nicely on the day we left  of course!?! Hope it's still nice out for you!

I truly wanted to sit, relax and take it all in. We tend to rush around thinking about how much money it takes to brings us here and we miss some of the little things going on....well not this time.

I need to do that more...not rush and take it in :goodvibes We tried to do that this trip, even though it was short. This was the first trip we didn't rush to get up and head to the parks and we didn't do "commando" touring, just wandered around and stopped where/when we wanted.

Glad you had a great day at DHS! Looking forward to more updates popcorn::

Off to upload my pics and find my Mom's camera to get hers up too (she has all the race day ones ;))

Oh almost forgot, September is a perfect time to go. The weather is getting better (not quite as hot as August) and less crowds. This was the first trip we've made in March and boy was it crowded!

My DH and I are going in September, too! We were there last Sept for our honeymoon and it was so amazing. I'm really enjoying your reviews!

So happy you're back...sure missed chatting:hug: Being there at the same time would make us so happy....I am going to try my best...I have to pop back to your PTR for August and check your dates....I have a funny feeling my boss is away the week before the long weekend in September, but I'm going to check tomorrow!!!! I can't even begin to imagine how much fun we would have, when I told Jasmine, she got the biggest grin on her face:woohoo:

Good for you for not doing "commando" touring....I have to constantly tell myself to take it all in!! Can't wait to see your pictures. I really hope we can make the September trip.....it will be much more feasable if they have free dining again!!!

My DH and I are going in September, too! We were there last Sept for our honeymoon and it was so amazing. I'm really enjoying your reviews!

Really? When in September? Jasmine is thinking of not starting University until January so a September trip could work for us!!!!

I'm glad your enjoying the TR....I just realized I'm almost done and that makes me sad....unless I have another PTR to start:cool1:

Our dates are August 29- September 5th

I hope our trips can coincide I would love being able to meet both you and Jasmine!

Well, I hope the quality of my TR (yep, I started...see siggie) is a quarter of the quality of your TR. :goodvibes

I'm glad we didn't do "commando" touring too. Next time, I have to remember to get more pictures. I realized, I hardly took any, oops :rolleyes1

September is a great time to go and yes free dining is nice, we did that for the first time last year. (:rolleyes1...maybe we'll have to do another Sept trip, esp. if FD is offered and most esp. if Queen is going). ;)

I am here & all caught up! Somehow I missed that you had started your TR!? :confused3

How great that you took your daughter's BF for his first trip to Disney!! One of my favorite trips with my family was the year my parents let me bring my then bf (now DH!) on our trip. It was so different getting to experience everything with him! He probably wasn't as over the moon as I was because coming to Disney with us meant he was missing Mardi Gras back home, and that is his favorite holiday of the year!! :lmao:

I love all of the pics so far, especially the ones with the characters! They are too cute. The interaction with Goofy at AK was just hysterical. He wasn't just playing around!! And it looks like y'all ate at a lot of great restaurants. One of these days, I'll convince DH to eat at LTT. The Pilgrim's Feast looks like just my kind of food!

Subscribing so I can keep up with all the updates from now on! :thumbsup2

It was so crazy at work today I didn't get a chance to look at the vacation schedule, but I set myself a reminder to check it Monday!! I have my fingers, toes, legs, arms and anything else crossed.....we would LOVE to be there when you are!!!!

Yeah Liz, I'm so happy you're doing one, and I'm subbing!!! Maybe I should hold your mittens hostage and bring them with me so you HAVE to come? Is that wrong? It seems wrong, but I'll do it if it means you'll come and see us:hug:

We're not going until the last week in September. We figures it was the perfect place to spend our first anniversary :rotfl:

Great updates as always :thumbsup2

The girls loved the pics of the Sci-fi Diner - they hadn't seen pics of it before and thought is was so cool that your table is in a car!

Glad Aladdin was able to enjoy all the action and adventure and car shows - having young girls those weren't really a priority for us :rolleyes1

Totally agree that Fantasmic! is an amazing show, and hot chocolate is the best way to end a chilly evening

I couldn't agree with you more.....I can't think of a better place:cloud9:

Hey girl, I've missed you!! So happy the girls liked the pictures....it really is a neat place!!

I hear ya with the girl stuff....when we went with Peg and her family, we actually skipped LMA because the girls had seen it once and didn't want to see it again....they were more interested in how many times they could ride ToT and RnRC......

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I, unfortunately, have picked up a nasty cold....just got over a virus that went through my branch and now this.....ok enough whining. Jasmine and Aladdin are out for dinner and bowling for one of their friend's birthday's so I am just sitting here on the laptop, wrapped in my fuzzy castle blanket from WDW:lovestruc with my cup of tea and I thought I better check in.

We spent the day today at Jasmine's cheer competition and I'm very happy to tell you all they placed third. They have the provincial championships next month on the 10th so it's going to be a brutal upcoming month. Everything is starting to come together for grad and they are having their biggest fundraiser next Friday. They do a fashion show at the school so I will be sure to post pictures of that next week.\

I hope I am feeling a little more human tomorrow to actually at least get a half day posted.

Hope you all have a great weekend:yay:

Hope you start feeling better Queen!

Congrats to Jas on the cheer competition! :cheer2: Sounds like there are a lot of fun and exciting things coming up. :goodvibes

I loved your DHS update. I can't believe the rude man at Sci-Fi. It definitely takes all types. I love the enthusiasm from Aladdin. Reminds me of the first time I went and that feeling of being so amazed. As always, beautiful fun pics! :thumbsup2

Take care of yourself!

Hope you feel better

:yay: for Jasmine and team! :cheer2:

I'll be looking forward to the fashion show pictures! :)
