Queen, Jasmine and a Disney Virgin...will he love it like we do?

Good evening Queen! Love the AK update. Jasmine looks so cute in her bug glasses. Love it! The food at Rainforest Cafe looks great too. After all the bad things I've read I think those pics took that away. Everything looked great. :thumbsup2

Yay for a DISmeet!! :woohoo: You and Hypermommy look so happy! :goodvibes

Hi Leanne:wave:

Thanks so much....I plan on having another post up by this afternoon....as long as I don't get distracted by the Olympics:rolleyes1 The food was really good, and I love that you could share which would save money that we could then spend on souvenirs:thumbsup2

Hypermommy was a doll, she is so funny and we felt like we'd been friends for years. The kids loved her too, Aladdin still talks about her stories!!

You got your wish! Canada vs USA tomorrow :woohoo: Should be quite a hockey game! :yay:

I just posted this on your wall....great minds think alike! It should be a great game!!! We had a few heart stopping moments at the end of the game last night, but they prevailed!!!!

Hi Leanne:wave:

I just posted this on your wall....great minds think alike! It should be a great game!!! We had a few heart stopping moments at the end of the game last night, but they prevailed!!!!

I laughed when I saw your post on my facebook since I had just posted the same thing on your page :rotfl:

I made a point of getting up extra early this morning to get the housework finished, laundry in and a post done by the time our men's curling team goes for gold at 1pm CST!! I had a few photobucket mishaps but all seems good now so I will cross my fingers and get this done!!

This post brings us to Wednesday February 3 our second day at the MK and I had high hopes for this day. I got up to have my shower but before that I decided to peek outside and to my surprise there was actually BLUE sky...something we hadn't seen on this trip! I let a little squeel out which woke up the kids and when I told them there was no clouds, they both jumped out of bed. I hadn't turned the tv on yet to check what the actual temperature was going to be and at this point I have to say I honestly didn't care...the sun was shining!! Turned out, it would be warm enough by afternoon for the kids to wear shorts...they were in Florida and were going to wear their shorts no matter what the temperatures were today. Jasmine decided to through on her new hoodie and we headed out the door!! We grabbed our usual breakfast, got on the bus and decided that we would start our day in Adventureland. We had 1pm ADR"s at LTT so we thought by the time we got all our rides in it would be time for lunch!!
255-1.jpg

Arriving at the MK...take a moment and enjoy that wonderful blue sky, isn't it beautiful!
256-2.jpg

We went to head toward Adventureland by passing Crystal Palace, but I forgot it was under refurbishment so we back tracked to go around. Of course I made the kids stop for another picture and I do love this one. There is something about the trees and flowers at the MK that I love.
257-2.jpg

Entering Adventureland...don't they look happy? We were a little sad that SM was closed but I kept reminding them there would be more trips in the future.
258-2.jpg

Couldn't resist a picture of them walking by the Dole Whip stand! Last summer when we were here we tried the pineapple floats at the Sunshine Terrace and I actually preferred them to the Dole Whips...unfortunately, the Sunshine Terrace was also closed. This was something that was hard to get used to on this trip....going in August, everything is open...going at this time of year...not so much
259-2.jpg

I stopped to take some pictures of the signs they had on the boards where they were undergoing refurbishment...he was a genius!!!
260-2.jpg

And another one....actually there were many, but the kids wanted to get to Pirates...that is until Aladdin saw the Magic Carpets and wanted to ride.
261-2.jpg

There was a 10 minute wait so I grabbed this picture of them before they went and got into line. I decided that I wouldn't ride, that I would take some pictures in Agrabbah and then pics of them on the ride....it was such a beautiful morning, I wanted to take it all in!
262-2.jpg

When Jasmine was younger, I spent a few pennies in this store....Jasmine is her favorite princess and they had everything you could ever want in this store!!
263-2.jpg

I decided to go around the back of the ride to try and get some better pictures and as I was walking I noticed that the real Aladdin and Jasmine were going to be coming out for photos...I contemplated getting in line to reserve a spot for them when they got off, but had second thoughts when I thought they would appreciate pictures of them on the ride instead
264-2.jpg

The spitting camel...he has made contact with me a few times in the past when Mini Montana and I rode this ride...she loved it..again it made me wish they could have been with us on this trip!!
265-2.jpg

There they are all strapped in a ready to fly...I was having fun watching them
266-2.jpg

Getting shots of them on the ride was more difficult than I thought it would be
267-2.jpg

I love how happy they look on such a simple ride....Disney just has that affect on all of us
268-2.jpg

I asked them when they got off the ride if they wanted to wait in line and see Aladdin and Jasmine but they said no, they wanted to do as many rides before lunch as possible so off we went to Pirates
269-2.jpg

Not the best picture...actually in all the years we've been coming to Disney, this was the first time we ever went through a lineup to get onto the ride...had to grab this first on film
270-2.jpg

We headed over to BTMRR and the wait was 60 minutes so we decided we would try HM so off we went, but not before we grabbed FP's for BTMRR. Clearly we made the right decision, wait time was only 10 minutes.
271-2.jpg

A shot of the riverboat from the lineup...we never did see the new show, but we did see Princess Tiana near Liberty Square but the line up was so long, we skipped it. She is gorgeous and her dress is stunning.
273-2.jpg

The HM...I love this ride but all of a sudden I realized I was going to have to sit by myself and that didn't thrill me....I tend to jump alot in this ride. You would never have gotten me on this ride as a child, so I was so surprised last summer when my 5 year old niece went on with Jas and I and didn't flinch...she was, however, concerned that the ghosts weren't dusting enough.

274-2.jpg

The horseless carriage....when we were here for MNSSHP in 2004, they had a PP here and when we looked at our pictures there was a ghost on it...it was no neat!!!
275-2.jpg

Almost there........
278-2.jpg

This boy was learning, I didn't even have to tell him to give me a scary face....
277-2.jpg

One last shot before we headed inside.......

Another great update! :thumbsup2

Looks like you had really great weather that day... makes me all the more anxious to get down there away from all of this snow! ;) I love all of your pics near the Aladdin ride too, that whole area is really cool to look at. Sometimes it's nice to just soak up the atmosphere which I'm definitely planning to do more of on this next trip. :cloud9:

Looking forward to more as always! :goodvibes

:yay: for sunshine and blue skies!

Very nice pictures! The ones around the Magic Carpet are from nice angles :thumbsup2

I love how Aladdin is playing along in the HM pic! Too cute! :goodvibes

Loving the update! That last picture with Aladdin and Jasmine where he is making the scared face, she looks so pretty and peaceful. She looks like a child that never gives her Momma any trouble. Ahhh don't they all to innocent bystanders!! lol

Great pics :thumbsup2

Thanks;) I bet you're looking forward to it....seems everyone has been hit hard this winter. I agree with you, I love that area and when the Sunshine Tree Terrace is open, they have great frozen coffee which we enjoyed in the mornings....except the morning we had ice cream floats:rotfl2: My nieces loved that their auntie's philosophy is "it's all good, we're on vacation".

More to come today.....:yay:

Me too....he definitely passed all the tests....I received the PIN code on Friday for the free quick service dining, I wanted to cry, sure I have the PIN code but no money for everything else:rolleyes1

Great pics :thumbsup2

I had to go back and look at that picture....and you're right, she does look peaceful.....it's all a farse!!!:lmao:

I have to take a moment to apologize for abruptly leaving my last post....I went to upload more pictures on photobucket and it was giving me a hard time....or I just don't know what I'm doing sometimes!!

We had a wonderful time on HM and Aladdin couldn't get over how "sick" everything was....I learned on this trip "sick" was a good thing!! We were still early for our ADR's at LTT so we decided to wander over to Fantasyland to see how long the wait was for Peter Pan's Flight....it was 45 minutes, so back to Liberty Square we went....this would be a bad decision as we never did ride PPF on this trip and it's one of my favorities....oh well, next time. We, ok I, decided we should see what the wait was for HoP....the show was starting in 5 minutes which was perfect, so off we went. Even though we're Canadian, there is something about this show that pulls at my heartstrings. I find it even more so now that they have the 9/11 imagines....brings me to tears everytime. I think it also has something to do with us living an hour from the US border and spending a lot of our vacation time there....ok anyways, Aladdin fell asleep!!!! Isn't that my job on CoP.....I wanted him to see the animatronics because in all the other attractions he thought they were "sick". Oh well, I enjoyed the show.....

By the time it was over, we headed to LTT for our lunch. I was surprised at how busy it was and then quickly remembered that the characters were back because Crystal Palace was under refurbishment. We were wondering if it would be the Pooh characters from CP or the characters that used to be at LTT before they did away with the characters....it was this....Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale, no Goofy though.

279-3.jpg

We checked in and waited about 15 minutes before we were shown to our table. I was excited to be back and have the characters here, this is one of my favorite restaurants on property, we have so many memories here from when Jasmine was younger, I wanted to just sit and remember.
280-3.jpg

As you can see, the restaurant was quite full and I overheard the lady at the front saying to a guest that they weren't accepting any walk ups on this day. I wasn't surprised by how many people were in the waiting area and outside. There was one family waiting who were so rude to the ladies at the front I almost lost my mind. Everytime they took a family in the grandmother, who I'm guessing was maybe 10 years older than me, would yell at the ladies at the front asking why they were let in before them? Are you kidding me..."what makes you so special" is what was going through my head, but I kept my filter on and nothing spilled out....this time!!!! This became our entertainment as we waited....Aladdin was stunned that she would behave like this in front of her grandchildren, never mind everyone else it the area. Takes all kinds to make a world I kept telling myself.
281-3.jpg

Chip or Dale, can't remember...this is when we realized that it was the old time characters we were used to being here, and Jasmine's face lit up. Not that she doesn't love Pooh and the gang, but she said those are her memories from CP, not LTT....the girl had a point.
282-3.jpg

We were seated to the right when you enter, second table in...it was perfect. We could see when the characters would come around the corner so it gave me a few moments to get the camera ready. Chip was the first to stop by for a visit...he shook Aladdin's hand and then felt his muscles because apparently he hurt Chips hand when he squeezed it...we laughed so hard...along with the Canadian family that was behind us!!!
283-3.jpg

I didn't realize when I booked this that it would be like the old dinner. Served family style, not ordering from a menu. I love this meal....I was excited...Jasmine was a tad disappointed as she had her heart set on the pasta that she loves for lunch here. Here is the delicious salad.....
284-3.jpg

Buns, fresh out of the oven, to die for....actually, I don't know what I enjoy more, the buns or that honey butter....we ate all the buns between the 3 of us. Glad we decided to have a very light breakfast today, we were going to make up for it at lunch.
285-3.jpg

My plate....I know I've already said this, but this is my all time favorite meal on property....well turns out it would be Aladdin's too!! He talked about it for the rest of our trip and wondered if we could go back. As a matter of fact, he still talks about it, last weekend we went out with his family for dinner and we were telling them all about the trip, and he brought up that meal again. I put all the pictures on a disc for him to take home and share with his family and his dad was making fun of me for taking food pictures.....non-Diser's...they just don't get it do they?
286-3.jpg

Dale....I think Jasmine has a mouthful of food here, I never realized that until I was posting this...too funny
287-3.jpg

The head girl herself....Minnie. She is adorable isn't she?
288-3.jpg

Pluto and I have to say this is one of my favorite pictures of the entire trip...I just see the joy in their eyes...doesn't matter if your 4 or 17 or 70, there is something about the characters that brings out the kid in all of us.
289-3.jpg

Pluto was the only character that came over to me....and I have to say Aladdin was quick on the draw of grabbing the camera to take this picture...made my day!!!
290-3.jpg

I realized as we finished eating dessert that I forgot to take a picture of it....sorry. It was apple cobbler and ice cream and it was so good. With our bellies full we decided to walk through Fantasyland. One of the cast members who was picking up trash made this with his little broom and bucket of water....such talent.
291-3.jpg

Jasmine decided to take another shot, she thought he was very talented. As we were watching him, we decided that we would walk to Toontown and take a ride on the railroad to the front of the park, head back to the hotel to change for our upcoming dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
292-2.jpg

We lucked in with the bus being at the stop when we arrived so we even had enough time to rest for a little while before we headed out to dinner. The kids decided to put jeans on for the evening because when the sun went down so did the temperature. We hopped back on the bus to MK, then took the monorail to the GF. Aladdin loved the monorail, what boy wouldn't? I took this as soon as we walked in from the monorail....we were quite early (about 30 minutes) for our ADR so we decided to wander around and take some pictures
293-2.jpg

I asked the kids if they thought they would like to stay here on a future trip, but they both said no, it was too "Uppity" for them, Jasmine said "we're more WL or AKL people"....ok?!!
294-2.jpg

The staircase....
295-1.jpg

The details here are beautiful and the flower arrangements....unbelievable.
296-1.jpg

Cinderella and Prince Charming....they were the exact same ones that were here last time we visited!!
297.jpg

The characters here didn't spend a lot of time talking at our table, but we did enjoy the interaction they were having with the smaller children at surrounding tables
298.jpg

Lady Tremaine would make faces at Jasmine everytime she walked by, it was quite hilarious!! She made a comment about Aladdin's hard, spiky hair, and when she walked away, he said "has she looked at her hair lately' we how
299.jpg

She was hilarious...I love Aladdin's laughter and Jasmine's "deer in the headlights" look....she was the only character who assumed they were boyfriend and girlfriend and not brother and sister....she asked Jasmine how long they had been dating and Aladdin answered with "it will be 8 months on the 14th" we laughed so hard that he jumped in with that. She turned back to Jasmine and said "well this may be a little early, but remember, it's one carat for every year you're together"....this is what she is saying when I took the picture and Jasmine was thinking "ok"....it was a priceless moment.
302.jpg

I had a surprise waiting for the children...thanks to my friend Dawn (Dawnbu40)who suggested I order this for them instead of a cake. She was so right, this was perfect!! The waiter was so good, he kinda gave me the "is now a good time" look, I nodded so the kids were oblivious to anything going on, they were still enjoying the antics of the step-sisters.
303.jpg

The kids thought the waiter had done this for their graduation, he quickly told them it was from me for their celebration....it was so gorgeous and so good.
304.jpg

The kids each had 2 strawberries, I had one, and we took Mickey back to the hotel....and I have to say we brought him home with us in our suitcase, not carryon, and he made it in one piece. I couldn't believe it when I opened the suitcase and there he was....within a week, we had eaten him and he was so good!!!! It was another perfect day....we were truly having the time of our lives.

Up next....DHS!!!

I'm so glad they liked the Mickey and strawberries! :yay: We ended up taking ours home too

Your LTT lunch looked so fun (once you got away from that grandma :sad2:)and yummy! Two pics of you guys with Pluto are adorable! You all just look so happy :goodvibes

I love the new Hall of Pres and found it very moving as well. As for Aladdin falling asleep, well my family thinks the American Adventure is nap time and we're American :rotfl:

When my sister and i go we unsually end up surprising each other with the chocolate slipper. Now i'm gonna do the Mickey w strawberries! Yummo
Great report!

'Me too....he definitely passed all the tests....I received the PIN code on Friday for the free quick service dining, I wanted to cry, sure I have the PIN code but no money for everything else:rolleyes1 '

Hmmm wonder why we still have not received a code? Are you an AP? We arent, and I used to get tons of emails but lately nothing. A code would make me book the trip, we are on the fence since we went twice last year and the last trip was in October. How many times do we need to go in a year. lol

(Ok now Im caught up too, great update and I love the Mickey and strawberries!! I have never seen that, is the Mickey chocolate? How do you order that? I am afraid to ask what it cost...lol. I think its best to just enjoy it and not know the price of some things....lol!)

I would order that again in a heartbeat for a special occassion....Jasmine and I love the chocolate covered strawberries in general, so we usually use all of our snacks on them;)

I have napped in CoP and Universe of Energy, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!!

When my sister and i go we unsually end up surprising each other with the chocolate slipper. Now i'm gonna do the Mickey w strawberries! Yummo
Great report!

I have never seen the slipper in real life only pictures, but it looks amazing, what a nice tradition you have:thumbsup2

No, we aren't annual passholders, I have no idea how they pick who gets the emails and who doesn't. My sister used to get them all the time, but she thinks her computer puts them in spam:confused3I know nothing of that.

Yes, the mickey is solid white chocolate and it is delicious. The price was $55 and I called the cake hotline which I found the number for on the boards....it was truly worth every penny!!

Thanks for the info! And the price definitely seems worth it, nothing really surprises me when I'm in WDW, it's funny how you don't bat an eye at those prices for little things, like 3.00 or so for a bottle of Coke, but here I won't buy one unless it's on sale for .99. haha Guess once you drive through the gates they put a spell on you.
Thanks again!! I will definitely do that for my girls, they would love it!!

I'm so proud that you decided to accept Aladdin for his name. And after meeting the young man I can tell you that it's definitely appropriate... this boy is definitely a diamond!!!!

Love y'all's hoodies! And congrats on last night's game/medal!!! What an exciting finish, huh? KC says that boy that scored the goal is due to beat all Gretzky's records. What a cool feather in his cap, huh?

LOL at thinking of things to tell that lady at the airport later. I knew you'd come up with something! :-)

Oh, that Aladdin is so smart. That young and he's already learned that sometimes it's just easier to do what your woman wants you to do whether you think it's sane or not. Smart boy!

Great shots from the plane!!!!!!!!!!

LOL LOL LOL @ the pilot's choice of words regarding Calgary!!! They just don't think sometimes, do they?

I think your hair (at the ME desk) is perfectly fine! :-)

So much fun seeing Aladdin being all excited over our currency. I can't get used to it... after having nothing but actually green greenbacks all my life, I can't get used to the colors. It looks like Monopoly money to me! Still spends just as good, though! :-)

Love the main gate shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the Sunshine State.

Mmmmmmmm..... food porn!!!!

Awwww.... what a wonderful thing for him to say regarding Illuminations and his day. I tell you, this boy should start an online business where he helps other boys know how to treat their young women. I don't think mine are rude or anything but more "normal". EM#1 just had to apologize becuase he hasn't called his girl in a week. I can't see that ever happening with Thomas.

Okay, I'm going to have to stop with your Epcot day back here on page 10 (which I say to remind myself where I was). I can't wait to get on again and read more!!!!

Those tuxedo strawberries were perfect! What a great idea.

We never made it to LTT when they had their characters. I really wanted to go back to WDW while Crystal Palace was down so I could give it a try. I couldn't convince Dh though.

Love the waterstained Mickey on the road. What a great way to spread the magic.

Yeah for blue skies. Sometimes it's the little things that really matter the most.

Finally I get over here to catch up

I am going to be so behind when I get back from vacation :guilty:

I love the pics on Aladdin's carpet ride how fitting for the two of them :cutie:

Sorry about the rude woman at LTT :sad2:

I love the Haunted Mansion! It does make me jump though

I am glad you got to take the Mickey back home that's what we did with ours and I was shocked we were allowed to take it through security

Hi Queen!!! Great updates...the MK pics were amazing...loved the pic of Jas and Aladdin on the carpets. How great was it that the characters were back at LTT while you were there:banana: That Mickey looks tasty..and how did you manage to get him home in one piece!!! :worship: I guess this will be my last update before we leave TONIGHT at 3:30 am :scared1:(I guess that is technically tomorrow...but whos keeping tabs :rolleyes1 LOL):rotfl2: You need to try and pace yourself with your updates...don't get too far ahead, or I will be reading for hours:surfweb: trying to catch up!!!:lmao: Can't wait to hear more when we get back!!!

Hi Queen, great updates as usual!

I love the MK pics of Jas and Aladdin on carpets! So cute!! :lovestruc

LTT - miss those characters and the food, haven't been back since they took away the characters. mmmm....hungry for turkey and stuffing now! :rotfl2:

Oooo...I want one of those mickey's and strawberries! That was such a nice treat you gave the kids! :woohoo:

I Love looking at your pictures. Once again your DD is so photogenic.

I think it's so great that you and your DD have such a wonderful relationship. Sometimes I can't wait for my DD to be older, and at other times I want her to stay 3 forever.

Sorry you had to ride HM by yourself. That's what sucks about having an odd number of people with you when you go to Disney. I always hate when I have to ride by myelf too. This year, I'll have a baby sitting on my lap though. Hopefully he'll handle most of the rides pretty well.

I think this trip is going to be more about ambiance for me rather then thrill rides. I'll stay behind taking pictures and hanging with the baby while everyone else enjoys the rides. Don't get me wrong, I'll still do my fair share of the rides! So excited!!

Well, great update as usual.... Hope to read more before I leave on my trip.
