Quarantine Update?

Exactly. I have friends that have no idea and their travel agents are telling them there are no issues! They look at me side ways when I say I'm concerned about the quarantine.

However, It states at https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/travelers/ that there is a quarantine mandate. Disney tells you to check here when you agree to their safety requirements. So at a minimum there is a direct path to the information.

I am flying in from NY on the 19th. If asked to fill out a form I will just put the wrong name and number on it. If asked by hotel I’ve been in Florida for weeks visiting family. Not going to let some ridiculous policy that makes no since right now stop my family vacation.

We were just about to re-book from Aug to Sept, then this came through! UGH!!!! Pushing it out until October. What about all the people who were leaving today?? They all have to reschedule?

If i got a discount on my 2020 trip and have to modify to 2021 due to the quarantine would wdw honor the discount?

Based on others' experiences ive read (mainly on the Resorts forum), no, unless you can start your trip before December 31, 2020.

Just some quick observations....

None of the official FL travel sites have been updated since the EO went public so we are still waiting on an official announcement. All sites DO still list the quarantine restriction though. EO-20-52 was extended and the quarantine is tied to that order, but can be amended. This was done for LA. (who was in worse shape than NY/NY/CT is now when the restriction was lifted for them but who's counting!)

The one thing that seems to indicate to me that the quarantine is still in effect is that the I-95 checkpoint is still operating as of this morning. Not good news for those of us who are DVC and pass holders....

They do have flight manifests, I wouldn’t lie on the form! If you’re gonna go I’d fill it out accurately, just my opinion.

They should make people from all 3 states quarantine. However, that doesn't make it right for someone to posh posh the instructions in place.

I think the real irony here is just that tri-state area is still restricted and places that are on literal corona fire are not.

If anyone thinks this isn’t political you’re fooling yourself. There are at least 25 states with way worse numbers than the 3 states are banned. If they are added to the quarantine list I defy someone to give me a logical reason for their exemption

CT...drove to FL came back. 6 days there. No problems. Practiced all appropriate mask (always when inside public places, outside when required or unable to maintain social distance), social distance, and washing/hygiene.. just the same as we have and continue to practice back at home. As safe as anywhere else currently is if you follow all the precautions that have been preached. Managing the risk to yourself and others safe is the best anyone can do and is just as effective in your home state or anywhere you may travel to. Words in orders that take affect at lines on map or any other imaginary "boundaries" are pointless and have shown to be quite ineffective (how long ago did FL start the quarantine of tri-states?)…it wasn't a mad rush of northeastern folk that sent FL skyrocketing as they opened. SO, get out and travel IMO (if you are comfortable going), but do so with responsible practices. Only with everyone doing this together will we start to make headway. Not with a silly/pointless hodgepodge of "you can go here, you can't come from there, and quarantine if you traveled through here to there" orders.

edit: I have decided to make one concession to the orders.. they are useful for fools who will got to crowded places without masks, especially in places known to currently have higher rates or won't follow mask, distancing, or hygiene recommendations. So, executive orders aimed at the fools who won't help are appropriate. They should not be moving about.

When we drive into Florida and filled out the form they didn’t even check our licenses to see if we gave the correct info. Also no one contacted us the entire 11 days we were there to see if we were really where we said we were going

I did the same thing the first week of June when our Beach Club stay got cancelled. We flew from Newark and stayed 6 days at Margaritaville Resort. I plan on doing it again in 3 weeks for our DVC stay.

For others driving ....look at google maps ahead of time to familiarize yourself... get off exit 1 in Georgia on I-95.... go west (right turn on to Scrubby Bluff Road at end of ramp) and then turn left onto US 17 when you reach it. Take that south into FL and then turn right on FL state route 200 back to I95. It is not illegal to go around the 95 checkpoint, and you won’t have to hassle with paper work or any potential traffic back up. They are stopping traffic on 95 because most drivers from northeast go that way, but nothing illegal about taking ANY other available route...
