Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Amen dear PollyannaMom! I completely agree. Thank you again dear Bobbi and Tom, of course, too.

Thanks dear Pea. An office chair would still be ideal because it's lower and something my Dad can use, too. I appreciate you and absolutely keep you in extra prayers always, you know that.

Dear Lynn, many prayers Summer is doing better and that you enjoyed a calmer day.

Please keep having fun dear Judique!

Footballmouse, Easyas, Taz, loving prayers to you and all of my dear Quacker family.

My Dad rescheduled Empire for Tuesday and Wednesday November 11th and 12th because of street cleaning on Thursdays and Fridays. Parking on our street is challenging enough without that. Plus, the work will start and God willing get done a couple days earlier. This will also make scheduling Antonia out housekeeper easier. He will just have to get them both temporary parking permits.

LA Care really does have some lovely representatives. Desiree went above and beyond for me. God willing, finally, tomorrow a request for additional therapy will be submitted by the social services director. If it's not, the facility doctor who I am assigned to is due to come tomorrow so he can put it in. Much improvement there.

I am praying my roommate M's dinner medication is eventually going to kick in and calm her. She's been goong about some horrible things all day off/on. She is also very faithful which is where the music helped this morning. I'm also praying the doctor tomorrow can help me with M, too.

Dad extra prayers always appreciated. Thank you all and of course, for everything.

Sweet dreams dear friends.

Bobbiwoz Bonnie is lovely and glad she is settling into her new home.

Mona Hope you get the news you want for more therapy. Glad the floors are getting done.

Judique I enjoy reading about your trip. It sounds like a nice time at your pace and timing. I agree with you about the cheddar soup and pretzel roll. I was looking forward to them when I went in Sept but the soup was cold and the pretzel roll was dry and seemed almost stale. Look forward to hearing more about your trip.

Lynn I do feel bad for Summer. I hope she is feeling better. I wish her mother would be more helpful, that I don't understand. Summer has alot going. I know you care about her and she is fortunate for that. And I understand not wanting to be her bank. That gets old fast.

Good morning. It is 55 now but temps are actually going to be heading down during the day. It is supposed to get windy and be in the 40s for Halloween treat or treating. At least the rain will have stopped this morning. I was in the office yesterday as my boss is sick. The ride in was OK but the ride back was awful. Too many big trucks on the road and I think that is what slowed traffic to a crawl. There weren't any accidents or road work, just areas where we would slow down to a crawl, speed up, and the slow down again. I can't wait until I don't have to do it ever again. We should be getting some kids here tonight so I have candy. Any leftovers will go into Christmas baskets or in a candy bowl for Thanksgiving.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Never had any more rain yesterday, but the winds started last night. We have a high wind warning all day. I closed up the umbrella and brought it in after the cats had dinner last night, not having it become a projectile and ruining the brand new one again.

All cats are accounted for outside, even Tiger was out on the back deck. She's been coming to the front porch in the mornings and sitting outside the door, I don't know what prompted the change, lol

Going to be 54 today and then start warming back up to the low 60's for the next few days.

Summer called yesterday and talked for an hour. Apparently a lady decided she was going to cut across 2 lanes of traffic to try and get to the street she was going to. She couldn't decide whether to go or wait, so she gunned her gas pedal and went, right into Summer. Summer had the presence of mind to turn her wheel or they both might have hit a house and the people sitting on a porch.

I actually expected to see more damage than this, but it's enough that they are calling the car a total loss. (pic below) The mechanic at the garage it was towed to, said it looks like there's frame damage, and you don't mess around with a damaged frame.

The lady claimed immediate responsibility, already filed a claim with her insurance, and they've been in contact wi
th Summer's company and with her. They will be paying for everything, including the $250 towing charge for the car.
Lady had no injuries, Summer is sore, but okay. The garage finally fixed her truck yesterday and she has a vehicle again, at least for now. They're hoping the insurance co. gives them enough for the totaled car to get Gracie something reliable.

Making a quick run to Martins for a couple of sale items and to use my coupons and then staying inside out of the wind.

PSA if you change the clocks back, this is the weekend we do it.

Have a good day all

I did watch the video dear Pea. Once I'm stronger it could be a perfect, easier transitioning to no wheelchair for going out. I will keep it in mind. Sincerely thank you. Meantime, I am just so grateful my roommate M is calm. She was sure screaming already earlier when the overnight CNA was going to change her God willing she stays quieter and we will have our lovely regular morning CNA, A.

The facility doctor is supposed to come today. Between him and LA Care I am sure counting on getting back on therapy as long as I am here. As I said he should also be able to help me with M.

Peace to all with an extra Friday hug :)

The saga continues. Summer rented a trailer to help move the rest of Lily's stuff out of the house they had rented and to the new place. She was getting gas when she noticed the truck was leaking tranny fluid, again. That garage is closed on Fridays, so she took it to another garage, where the crashed car is. They said they don't know what that guy did, but the line he replaced isn't a pressurized transmission line. They were afraid to touch it because they didn't know what else he might have screwed up.
She texted the mechanic on his personal phone # and he said he would be at the garage in 45 min. She brought the truck back there and is watching to see when he gets there and then walking over (or flying, in this wind). She wants the 4 new lines she had bought put on along with the new clips. She wants to see them on the truck before she takes it back, and she wants to see the old lines too. She's telling him either he stays there and fixes it today, or he needs to loan her a vehicle to go and get her husband in Ohio. And she's not paying him one more penny. He was going to charge her $250 to put the new lines on, and he charged her $190 to 'repair' one line. He had to order some clamp that cost $65 and the garage today told her there is no such clamp on a transmission line. She is so upset and discouraged, and I don't blame her.

The saga continues.

Maybe this is a good thing, not the faulty fix of course, but Summer brining out her backbone and insisting on the mechanic doing the job as originally contracted to. Being in control of the situation might make her feel a bit more in control of life in general, and any forward momentum is better than none.

Good Friday afternoon everyone. Hope you are all having a good day. It's sunny but breezy as all get out today. Weekend looks lovely, sunny & 60. Not sure what we will get into. I know I've got a solid 6 + hours up in the tractor to take care of, and I like to get it all done at once so I might do that tomorrow morning / mid-day. Not sure what the afternoon will bring or Sunday. Maybe a boat ride since it will be nice out - the colors on the river should be nice! May make a soup or two up to freeze up into lunch portions if I have the time/inclination. Headed to NC next week.

My holidays are starting to look reversed. Thanksgiving is usually my busy day and Christmas Day my chill day and I think it's going to be the opposite this time w/ just a total of 5 of us on Thanksgiving and 13 or more of us on Christmas Day. It's causing me to rethink how I approach both days & my menus and whatnot. I'm okay with it, it's just a readjustment of the 'norm'. But shaking things up now and then can be good I guess. And maybe I'll finally use some of the Christmas dishes I've been collecting up but never taking out of the box:headache: each year.

Sunday martinis will be in the dark this weekend I guess with the times going back. Maybe we will have a fire going and enjoy the dark & coziness of this time of year...why is it it seems cozy THIS time of year but by mid January and February it's just anything but cozy?

All of our offices took a photos w/ employees in their Halloween finest today. Just so happened when we took ours the UPS gal stopped by. She joined us - we will se how long it takes anyone to notice they don't recognize the person dressed up as a UPS person!
